I wish I could find a dobe owner who could do this same video. My female has a tiny waist but bigger hips. Plus the tail isn't as long. I have been buying different diapers just to get her used to them the last 4 weeks and now she is in heat. Still...no diapers that fit very good. It would be so beneficial to have a doberman breeder that does what you are doing. I guess I'm going to keep searching and try this type. All your info was very helpful even though I don't have proper fit yet. Much appreciated!! So much more info than diapers. Well done!

This was very helpful!! Thank you. My 18 month old Papillon just went into her 2nd heat. She had her first heat while still with the breeder. I had a spay booked for Dec 8th and today is heat day 1 Nov 16th. I will reschedule the spay till February. Thank you so much!! :)

Wow, this was so helpful. I have a 12 week GSD and her half brother is shy of 20 months. We are in a delema as we are looking to get her half brother a vasectomy but are concerned about trying to keep them separated during her heat. I saw about the skirt which is a great idea, again for time to do dishes or throw in laundry. What is your recommendation as I hear stories about makes doing anything to get to the female.

I have a 4 month old puppy.. I am leaning towards Ovary Sparing Spaying her. She is a TRI-Mix so I do not want her to have a litter. But.... I do care about her health in that I think the Hormones would be so good for her. I am going to let her go through at least 4 heat cycles...... making sure her growing plates have closed. I watch Dr. Judy Morgan.. and Veterinary Secrets.. LOL I loved your video and I'm going to be buying up some diapers. Thank you so much.

Hey, your video was very helpful. My dog just got her first period, she keeps wanting to pee even after the has nothing to pee multiple times during her toilet walk & I've notice she's peeing more often too, her diaper's full of pee. Does anyone has the same issues? Is it normal?

I think my puppy went into heat she 9 months but will be 10 months on the 17 😩 but she’s a maltipoo but her vulva is swollen and like red and discharge look like blood idk what to do I brought diapers and she’s ripping them up

My 1st intact female dog just started her heat cycle last Monday. We have an intact male as well and have kept them separated. How long will I need to keep them separated for? He had been a handful since he is so bored without his partner in crime 😅

I have an intact male and a 6 month intact female. I have a 2 month long wait for lost cost spaying. I was gonna leave her intact but I have a lot going on and I know at some point she'll get pregnant. I don't plan on breeding her. I have so much mixed info on that they can get cancer without spay or that can have joint problems later in life with spay. Hard to know what to do.

Cycle lasts several weeks, the actual bleeding portion(s) only lasts 1-2

That disgusting. That's why I've never owned a female dog when I have my period. That was enough. I definitely don't want to be doing this cleaning up after a dog buddy vest. Yuck!.. get her fixed!!

Side note: she is fixed, but there are health benefits to allowing them to go through 2 heat cycles.

There are proven health and longevity benefits to allowing your pets to remain intact. Heat cycles, just like human menstrual cycles are part of God's design. There is no need to improve upon God's design. Some people choose to spay and some do not. The ones that choose not to can handle the blood in the same way OP explains in her very informative video. It's no harder than dealing with baby diapers or our own periods. Just requires vigilance, patients, and love.❤

Also, dog heat cycles are like every couple of months or longer...not every month like humans. My dog's cycle started off every 6-7 months, now at age 6, she's every 12 months or so.

I MUCH MUCH prefer my little female dog (pomapoo) who coincidentally just went into heat a few days ago. She's 6 though, so not her first cycle. We just adopted 2 male toy poodles 2 weeks ago and we scheduled their neuter surgery the day we adopted them. We are looking into vasectomy as well while we wait for their appointment. This information is helpful to me, because my little female has never been bred and we do NOT want her to get pregnant. Her heat cycles come about every year. I knew it was almost time, but was hoping she wouldn't go into heat until the boys were "fixed". Anyway the reason I prefer the girl dogs, is because our new boys are marking EVERYTHING in the house. They have to wear belly bands now. I'm hoping it will stop when Bailey's cycle ends.
