I'm curious as to what you think the alternative is? If you want a white-collar job, you need a degree. A college degree is the new high school diploma. Employees now expect degrees for entry-level positions that didn't require them before. My mother is a housewife and even she has a degree.
@watzittuya11004 жыл бұрын
Brittany the alternative is (in general) showing up to work as often as men and actually performing just as good regardless of the job. If people were more worried about working towards originality for what they wanted as opposed to trying to find someone to give it to them, I believe that would be a suitable alternative. With the internet and so much info being available even to the majority, I find it increasingly difficult to believe that the average person is incapable of being unoriginal these days. It might take time but I believe that time would be more productive than spending years in some lecture hall learning about things one has no affinity or interest in.

Berserk Baahu trade school is college but cheaper and better; instead of learning theories on how to do thing you actually learn how to do things. The jobs you can there are better than college jobs bc the good college job you need the best degree to get in their and you have lots of competition which mean you go more in debt for a job that has a low hire rate but have so much people applying to it that they don’t make it they go broke and are in debt have bad jobs. Trade school is not as popular since they don’t put propaganda to advertise themselves as college. Colleges needs people to go in debt so they get more money and buy pools and stuff so more people would go there and they get more money it doesn’t matter to them if people go into debt because of their propaganda because all they want is the money.

@Hammerhead5472 жыл бұрын
@@carultch The high end new luxury car market (brands like audi, porsche, cadillac, mercedes, bmw, maseratti, range rover and jaguar) is actually a relatively low volume market because the sort of people who buy cars like that new almost always have their financial shit together and will make the deal work to their benefit by having a high value trade in and a large down payment so they can eliminate as much of the overall cost as possible and whatever remains is easily financable because they're basically paying off the difference and taxes/fees on the purchase. New luxury car sales only account for about 7% of the market. As a result of this the vast majority of luxury cars on the road right now are on average somewhere between 7-12 years old with the median age being about 10.5 years, and after about 15 years most cars of that type are basically worthless either due to age or in most cases mechanical neglect (because the 2nd/3rd and 4th owners couldn't afford the routine maintenance on them) That's why when yoiu drive by one of those sleazy dirt lot "as is, how is" used car joints you'll almost always see a row of old BMW's with a few mercedes and maybe an audi and masseratti or two all advertised for less that $5000, it's also why you see so many obviously broke losers driving around in cars that they obviously couldn't actually afford unless they got them at one of those places.

I see a lot of people with this impulse control issue who are basically like addicts with varying levels of practical functionality, but it all comes down to an inability to put a hold on their desires. You have to have a point at which you simply stop spending. You have to set limits and have constraints in mind before you even start spending so that you can enforce them and stick to them to maintain financial discipline. Enjoy yourself, but set limits and stick to them, and never put yourself at a longer term financial disadvantage to satisfy short term impulses.

When his father died, he got to see how much money was left in the bank account for his mother to live off of. Thats when my father had respect for his father's frugality and he commented that his father did pretty well for a milkman. You may not be able to take the money with you, but it will be the last thing you do for your kids and the last memory they have of you.

She's horrible at investing money! If she has 24k in her account @2% and 33k in debt at 5% then her investing costs her 750 bucks a year. Not much, but man getting a negative net out of an investment is... I can't find words. Your car should never cost you more than 10% of your net worth. You shouldn't calculate money that you can't reach to your net (that is retirement plans). So she has 120k in savings and a car worth 30k. On which she owes 30k. She should sell it, pay it off and buy some 15k car with a cash. Thats 15k in her pocket plus interest she doesn't have to pay to the dealer plus interest she makes on it...

@leonrobinson81803 жыл бұрын
@@Konghammer1 That's dumb. Truly rich people have systems that allow them to divorce their time from their income. They own businesses, rental properties, stocks, etc. They aren't the workaholics you see on TV. You think poor is great now? Wait until you're old. How will you pay for your declining health? How will you retire? You won't be able to work forever. Plus due to inflation, your income buys less every year.

@@leonrobinson8180 I didn't say being poor is great for everyone. I have a good nest egg building and have already planned out living off of it once I hit 60. As things get more expensive I will just grab a cheap van and live in it. @leonrobinson81803 жыл бұрын
@@Konghammer1 The rich works hard because they're ultra driven, not because they have to. You may say "they'll miss the special moments". But while you can carry your kid to McDonald's, they can rent Disney for day. They have far more choices in life. You can live poor. That's fine.
