With all due respect to your perspectives, I think that marriage is not the point of this short documentary. It is the exploration of society's expectations of women after their 20's. Just based on your comments, I'm assuming that you place a conditional value on women that's dependent on their stances on marriage. Which she had addressed in the video already as your comments reflect society's expectations--with little to add to the conversation that this short doc intended to create and merely prove her point.
@pocnit7 жыл бұрын
hellaBayAr3a Society has expectations for a reason. The problem is, many people tend to think they are so much smarter than the hundreds of generations before them, and that "muh freedom" is so great. But you gotta realize, it's almost idiotic as a successful guy in your thirties to go for a woman in her thirties, especially if she's this childish and with commitment issues. Truth is, she's never gonna find the "perfect" boyfriend she's looking for, in fact with every passing week the guys she can potentially have are going to be worse and worse, since the good ones will always choose younger women. Then there's the idea that "she doesn't need a man, she's happy". Yeah right. Even the father in the video says that human beings need to build something, to have children. To think you can live your entire life happily banging random dudes and recording tapes is delusional.

"But you gotta realize, it's almost idiotic as a successful guy in your thirties to go for a woman in her thirties, especially if she's this childish and with commitment issues. " - But relationship are mainly based on LOVE and ATRACTION which is something we have no control. But I know women will prefer security over love. "Truth is, she's never gonna find the "perfect" boyfriend she's looking for, in fact with every passing week the guys she can potentially have are going to be worse and worse, since the good ones will always choose younger women." - Nobody will find the "perfect partner". Nobody is perfect. People have too much expectation of reality. "Yeah right. Even the father in the video says that human beings need to build something, to have children" - What if some people don't want that. There are men who go MGTOWN and are fine with it. "To think you can live your entire life happily banging random dudes and recording tapes is delusional." - Perfect hapiness doesn't exist. Long lasting hapiness doesn't exist. We have to deal with our lives each days and try to make it happy as much as we can.

After 35, a woman is pretty much forced to live as a man does: based on her utility. She's too old for men seeking to start a family and if she isn't useful then she will remain alone. Equality does finally catch up to women, it just takes a few decades along with poor life choices.

@adama59295 жыл бұрын
@@mstyles2667 That response doesn't actually address my original comment. In reference to your own, men *at least* know that the average woman desires to be taken care of and provided for(even hardcore feminists still want men to earn more and pay for them). Young, attractive women are able to rely on men's desire for them to do so in their early years, however, a woman that is no longer attractive to men(or might still be considered attractive but less so than women younger than herself) often find that they are judged more by what they know and can do as those have greater value at that point in her life. Which is why I said their value is determined by their utility. And also, I don't believe anyone made the claim that younger women specifically desire men over 35. That being said, men in that age range tend to have the resources necessary to support a family and it is not at all uncommon to see a 23(for example) year old woman with a guy in his early thirties. In comparison, it is rather rare to see a 23 year old man with a woman in her thirties. The older man is able to provide what women tend to value more(resources and status) but the older woman cannot offer what men tend to value more(beauty and the ability to provide offspring) It might hurt to hear but this is just nature. That formula has been in use for millennia and got us to where we are today. The people that ignore it, likely won't pass on their genes and will end up bitter at reality not bending to their expectations.

Her folks may have settled in Argentina from or via the former Ottoman city of Thessaloniki or thereabouts, where the Turks had deported a lot of Separdic Jews from the then-new Turkish Republic after WWI. For a time Thessaloniki was the sole city in Europe in which Jews were the largest ethnic group. They generally spoke Ladino, a sort of mediaeval Spanish they'd picked up before the Expulsions about 1492, so much later emigration to Spanish-speaking Argentina might have seemed a natural move. As for the gal featured in this piece, she may claim to have found peace in loving herself and all that, but like they say, "a hard man is good to find."

DescendantsOf Tituba I really don't see how this is what you get from what he wrote. I think that the point is that, in some ways, the grass is always greener on the other side. We tend to focus on what we want and can't have instead of focusing what we do have and would crave if we didn't. I don't think he's saying that you need to settle for whoever gives you any attention, I think that he's saying that at some point, you're better focusing on enjoying what you do have than chasing what you want in terms of specific details without considering the whole picture and, yes theoretically, considering how many people on earth there are, the idea of you ending up with a so called pre determined soul mate is mathematically unrealistic (although, coming from a similar background can sometimes help, even though it isn't always the case.) The point was, I think, that you can technically spend your life looking for a better fit, but you'll be much happier if you can find someone who's almost as compatible, and perhaps even more importantly, willing to work on the relationship and capable of appreciate what he or she has instead of focusing of what he or she doesn't. Now, maybe im misunderstanding the whole thing, maybe you just don't agree with any of it, it'd be your right. However, I don't see the point of acting as if what he said was "settle for whoever is paying you any attention"...anyway, that's just my opinion.

After your looks begin to fade men begin to start paying more attention to what you say or do. Thats where the learning proces starts and women start working on themselves. The race against the clock begins in earnest. Especially when the woman wants children. Not saying looks is all that matters. It is a big part of attraction. Even more important in the begining of the relationship when you dont know much about eachother and have little shared experiences. If you want to know how much looks matter to men. Think of financial security, being able to protect and ambition etc all rolled in one. Thats how important looks is to most men. For men character and intelligence is 2 and 3. Your social network or carreers and degrees trail far further down the list then the top 3. It is far from perfect or how we want it to be. Survival made men select for fertility 1st. And health and body type. Good genes for future hunters and later agricultirists and nomads. Women selected for men who were dominant in the group but usefull and were good hunters. A man who was too dominant and did not contribute to the group (tyrant) got into a "hunting accident".

If I were her, I would not mask my reason for staying single as "wanting to be free". It is not about how you personally view the world, it's about trying your best to see it as objectively as you can. I may try to hide my weaknesses as "wanting to be free", but it does not change "being messy" is a fact! Facts don't care about our feelings or perspective. Let's be fair: if you state your lifestyle which is unusual (im not specify "better" or "worse") than the norms, you will get either criticism or compliments. @Stealth Mode Key word..."If" things go right. Which is rare and not worth it. At least in the west, where I live 8 out 10 divorces are initiated by a women. 9 out of 10 if the women is college educated. You're marriage has a likelihood of divorce of 45%, that's PER YEAR. The odds of a marriage making it to the 10 year mark is 6.6%. If marriage was a business proposition, you would say no thanks. This is a bad, risky, investment where when things go wrong, my business partner (IE. your wife) gets all negotiating power when the business (marriage) fails and is statistically the one who will close the business down. But marriage is even worse than a business plan gone awry. At least when the business is over, it's over. Marriage in contrast cost's you on average 47% of your gross income in child support and alimony. Oh and that's after you pay for her and your attorneys fees. But, hey at least you have 50-50 custody right? Wrong. Courts on average award heterosexual women with 27 days a month of custody and heterosexual men 4 days, with LGBTQ at 15 days a month. Yeaaaaah no I'm good.

My Ex casual fling tried to baby trap me, she ignored my warnings, she anticipated a huge cash cow, her lawyer anticipated a huge cash cow, I remained out of the country in a none cooperating country and was obligated to pay ZERO, now is 15yrs later, she went broke, sold her only ever owned house because she was irresponsible and refinanced to the hilt anticipating I would pay. After $20,000 lawyers fees plus other idiotic spending she auctioned her house, now she rents alone with her 4th kid to 3rd guy, kid is 15, she hasn't had a man for 5yrs, lonely, old BROKE, working full time in a laundry, her first ever full time job. I can just imagine her sweating all day in there at 55yrs old, going home to a crappy apartment, wondering where she screwed up. I reminded her recently if she didn't try baby trap me she could have easily afforded to keep her home and she could have paid it off if she paid the legals and few other idiotic spending on her house, am sure whenever she sees the rent getting paid she regrets trying to screw me into paying her life bills.
