Man, I love you, I love this method, but I just use Zbrush for layout and merge because I dont know how to use blender xd
@tomcreektomoyaogawa43582 ай бұрын
Hi there! thank you for watching my video. I don't use blender at all but it's easy to learn how to use it so if you have a day to learn it, it might be worth it. but you can do any way you feel most comfortable :)

I have a question. would this method still allow you to make stylized hair types like in your last video?
@tomcreektomoyaogawa43582 ай бұрын
hello there! Yes absolutely you can use this method for making any type of hair. I saw professional hair artist using same technique but using Maya and I just decided to use zbrush instead of maya so You can use it to create anything like dragon ball's crazy hair style, Final fantasy hair...etc
@seanfenrir2 ай бұрын
@@tomcreektomoyaogawa4358 Final Fantasy was indeed the hairstyle I wanted to emulate. Therefore, I will try this method. Thank you very much for this video.

Hi Tom, thanks for the video 😃 I have a question regarding hair bake. How would you compare textures baked in blender using hair tool,and the ones baked in fibershop? I'm thinking about buying FS but I'm not sure if it makes that much of a difference? Cheers
@tomcreektomoyaogawa43586 ай бұрын
Hi there! I'm sure you can make good hair texture using hair tool addon but Fibershop is so much more powerful and flexible tool to use. You can make hair texture either procedurally, manually, or both at the same time. This really makes the hair texture production process easy and fast and you can create basically any type of texture you need efficiently. And moreover, you can apply modifiers at baking stage, and it allows you to customize hair texture in any way you desire(eg. colour,Ao,SSS...). So yeah, if you are character artist and need to make lots of hair textures, then maybe it's good idea to purchase Fibershop. It has very affordable perpetual license so if you like what you see in their official Fibershop videos, then just go for it.

Ty! can you do the same but all in blender?
@tomcreektomoyaogawa43586 ай бұрын
Yes you can,using curve and curve modifier but setup can be tedious and I personally find that it's hard to use.

Great video, what rendering software do you use?
@tomcreektomoyaogawa43585 ай бұрын
Hi there! thank you very much! I used the rendering software called Marmoset toolbag 4. It's really powerful and industry standard for real time game artists.
@jorricktv95504 ай бұрын
can you also animate / simulate them in game engine ?
@tomcreektomoyaogawa43584 ай бұрын
Hi there! yes you can. In unreal, you can just paint weight on the hair and let the hair physics do the work for you :) I believe unreal has good hair system built in by default and also you can use plugin like Kawaii physics to simplify the workflow.
@jorricktv95504 ай бұрын
@@tomcreektomoyaogawa4358 You know any good resources for that? Most tutorials I found where using Maya or other expensive third party software unfortunately .. it's really hard to find a tutorial on making a character in blender and rigging + animating it in unreal... All tutorials that were doing it with blender modles, were dodging hair, by just making short hair characters in blender (therefor they didn't have to show how to implement the hair in UE) or had chars with hats, helmets etc.
@tomcreektomoyaogawa43584 ай бұрын
@@jorricktv9550 I know some but they are all paid course and quite expensive and yes, they all use many third party software. if you wanna go just with blender, it's gonna be hard for sure. but I would recommend checking out youtube channel called " Royal Skies" . This channel deal with so many useful information so it could help.

Hair chunks usually look fine in Blender, but once you export it to an Game Engine you really start to notice the intersections. Doesnt look too great.
