I was in a group once where we took turns each week picking and watching movies and anime. One girl picked an anime called Natsu e no Tobira, it was sold to us as perhaps the earliest example of shonen-ai where a boy gets a crush on the main character but it ends up in tragedy where the the main character doesn't feel the same way and the other guy ends himself. I wasn't interested, sounded like typical female anime fan fare at the time but I went through it so I could get my pick in some other week. To my shock though, before watching this and in everything I'd read up on the title at the time; no one EVER mentioned that the main character got seduced by an older woman in this anime. All mentions I found online only mentioned the boy-on-boy thing. It's changed now and gets mentioned in the Wikipedia article but how they didn't think that was even worth mentioning in favor of a gay relationship hit me hard at the time.

The bail is "you are still innocent until proven guilty, but we need to make sure you show up to court and don't just run away". If she actually did the crime, then a jury should find her guilty, and THEN she should suffer for her crimes (and suffer greatly). Just as we shouldn't have double standards for who gets prosecuted for this stuff, we also shouldn't have double standards for evidence and rule of law when someone is accused. For all we know she didn't do it and the kid might have made the whole story up for attention. Until actually proven one way or another, her living at home is appropriate.

As a man who was touched by a female teacher between the ages of 6/7 I can tell everyone with full confidence it was one of the scariest moments to me in which I froze up and didn't know what to do. The psychology of male and female children before puberty is nearly identical. The psychological harm being an SA victim causes is identical in both male and female children. When I was 12yr my cousins 26yr wife got me drunk and roofied me to SA me. I didnt really understand the implication of what happened until many years latter. This reminded me of a female predator who groomed girls at an all girls school she worked as a teacher. After she got found out by the parents, they needed ten years to get her prosecuted. I remember her youngest victim was nine and by now, all of her victims (I am not sure anymore how many victims she had) are adult women. The easiest way to explain why things are getting normalised is because people aren't gaining self-reflection abilities as they become an adult. Yes and no, the age of consent is 16, but there are some exceptions if it can be determined that the older party is in a position of power or responsibility, or it's determined the act was paid for in which case it becomes sex work which the limit is 18 in which case you can be charged with statutory even if the other party is 16 or 17 so it's not really "true" that the age of consent is 16, it's just a blurry line between 16 and 18. As a rule even here in Australia if they are 16-18 you are walking a minefield.

As someone who was 🍇 by a female teacher for a year while I was in kindergarten, I can assure you, it really fucks with your head. I was unable to have or make female friends growing up. Even after going through therapy while I was a teenager, I didn't know how to interact with girls. I was able to make my first female friend when I was 20 years old, and thankfully, after that, I was able to have a normal life. And before anyone asks, no, the teacher never faced any repercussions as far as I'm aware. I live in South America, and during that time, it really was like that episode on South Park when my mother tried to report the teacher to the authorities.

Even if you accept the notion that a kid could have sex and still be mentally fine afterward, I don’t think that’s what the primary issue is. The problem lies in the fact that it places the kid in a state of vulnerability to be taken advantage of. Requiring an age of consent doesn’t mean all people will necessarily be mature enough to be discerning on who to have sex with, but there is the hope that most kids will be given enough time to achieve that (they don’t, anyway, at least not when the culture surrounding love and sex is so terrible). Any adult who is unable to wait to allow for that “safe period” for growth to naturally end is someone acting on impulse who cares more about satisfying themselves than for any potential impact they could have for others, so why would you want to entrust a child in their most vulnerable state to such a person? They obviously don’t care at all about the kid as anything else but a tool to satisfy their own sexual urges. All those comments about how “lucky” little kids are, are tantamount to saying stuff like how lucky a kid would be if their parents did nothing but let them eat candy all day, never needing to brush their teeth or take baths, or go to school.

It is an interesting situation. I remember having wished, as a young teen, that some of my teachers were hot, even now it is hard to think I would've been worse off for something to happen, but I understand that is because I've never experienced, never has even second or third hand experience. I understand my ignorance of the possible consequences and I understand it's not right to expose young kids to such a risk no matter their desires or fantasies. Prudence and care for those in a vulnerable position shouldn't be so hard to understand. Interestingly enough, in some countries, the law acknowledges a limited capacity for consent for 14+ year olds: for example in Italy consent is recognized as valid since 14 if the partner is within 2 years of age, so basically 14-16 amd 15-17 pairs are accepted, while from 16 onwards you are granted full right of consent. I suppose this is a way to recognize that at that age you are not a child anymore while still keeping you protected from people who would be old enough to abuse the advantage their maturity would give them in the relationship.

I just checked and it looks like the nude yoga videos are all age restricted, although there seems to be a gap in youtube's defenses, because while all the thumnails for those videos are blurred when you aren't signed in, you can still see them if they are in a playlist and you click on the playlist, but at least you can't watch the videos without signing in 😅. Also pro tip, if you want to know if a video is age-restricted you can either look at the description of the video, or you can open an incognito browser and search for the video.

Women are fundamentally liked in society but also not seen as competent or able to take responsibility because historically they were not in positions that required either. Just look at how different physical violence between the sexes is treated. Guy hits women? Abuser, misogynist, coward. Woman hits man? Weakling, loser etc. In both those situations the responsibility over the situation lands at the guys feet. Boys are taught to never hit or mistreat girls by their fathers but girls aren't taught the reverse. At most they are taught not to mess with guys because the guy can overpower them. Society has men take responsibility for themselves and for women, which made sense before women got equal rights and opportunities but now it gives women a massive privilege.
