It’s light by gate standards but definitely heavier than you’d want to try and lift. It’s all 2x4s and 4x4s no steel-which is the reason it failed smh

Wrong orientation of the rails imo. The 2x4 has less bowing on the 4 in side, than the way you have the 2 in side vertical. Possibly if you had done the top and bottom rails that way, it would have helped. And bracing on each section, you didn’t have that.

Your bracing is wrong, bracing should go from the bottom of the verticals to the top of the next vertical, the angle should be no more than 45 degrees. You honestly should build this out of steel.

Indeed, I came to the same conclusion; unfortunately steel isn’t in the realm of possibility at the moment due to time and money, I switched to a double inswing gate instead and it works as it should out of wood.
