Three years later, this is what I was looking for. Before I didn't pay too much attention to the 70s deluxe and other models for all that bad quality reputation. Two humbuckers ( splittable as added bonus ), fixed bridge, bolt on neck . . . look no further, this fender deluxe got the ticket for a highly versatile guitar. A Les Paul has a great sound, not arguing that, but this deluxe also sounds amazing giving a wider pickups palette or more sounds, and just myself I prefer the 25.5in scale. This Fender also I would expect to be more performance friendly sitting or standing up. I think this is a great reissue upgraded from the 70s original. Thanks for the video.

I think this American Professional II Tele Deluxe is a great guitar. Perhaps you’ve never played a great Les Paul? Some of the Gibson American Standards can be hit and miss but every Custom Shop Les Paul I’ve played was KILLER! The best feel and the custom shop pickups I’ve experienced. Granted they are 2-3 times as much as the street price of this Tele Deluxe. Only the buyer can decide if it is worth the price.

I’ve had this (Olympic White) for about 4 months and it is one of the best sounding guitars I’ve ever played. The humbuckers are so powerful and still cut through. The coil split is awesome for that single coil tone as well. I’ve had so many guitars but cannot imagine getting rid of this one ever.

Deluxe or de-bucks? Excellent topic and gets right to the point. The color agrees with me. "Deep-C neck... is it fat or thin (hopefully fat)? Contour reduces weight... nice. All tele's should have a half-bridge so you can get to the pickups without removing the bridge. Control switch is more accessible which is nice. To many knobs and it doesn't have a real humbucker vibe but it still sounds great in your hands. Excellent comparison. So... worth the price... Fender should move to Texas so they don't get taxed to death and then all of us could afford a Fender Professional.

Another update. I just bought a fender professional Telecaster in dark knight sparkle finish too. So now I have three telecasters... classic vibe 50s, performer Telecaster in honey burst, and the professional II dark knight. I thought I would sell my performer after buying the professional but after playing them for hours though different amps at my house I am going to sell the professional. The quality on both my American fenders is exceptional...one not better than the other. The necks are only slightly different. I like both but after playing for a few minutes they feel about the same. I think the performer neck is the right size for my hands... but either works fine. It's the tone of the professional that I am not impressed by. The performer sounds very warm and resonant...whereas the professional sounds sterile and lifeless and doesn't resonate much. Even my cheap classic vibe sounds and resonates significantly better shockingly. I think it may be the bridge and saddles on the professional that make it dull sounding in comparison or the pickups...or both... I'm not sure. I really love the look and feel of it but the tone is just not there. I'm shocked that this reviewers likes the Mexican player better than the performer. He just have just got a lemon or just doesn't liked the colors on the performer. I worked have to agree on the performer colors...they are not very good...kind of Easter egg like. .. except for the honey. I don't think anyone would conclude that the professional sounds better than the performer if they owned both like I do and played them side by side for hours... unless they are tone deaf... it's just not possible. The only thing I like about the professional is the push push... but it sounds muddy in every position except for the middle when using overdrive... so not worth spending more for that one feature in my opinion.

@@danneyboy1000 I just received one on Friday. Sorry, same guy, Pinchtune, from my other channel. Anyway, I was really disappointed so it's going back. Don't get me wrong, the guitar is great. The next is nice and it's actually better balanced than my Am Pro II single coil Tele. Maybe the body wood is heavier. Anyway, the reason I was disappointed is I was sent a guitar that had obviously been on displayed and wiped down dozens of times. It has riddled with tiny spiderweb scratches like when you wipe down a car all wrong. I was going to keep it because the neck is really nice. However, for some reason, the neck pickup will not take mid to high gain. It squeals uncontrollably. Maybe it's bad. Too much hassle for a new guitar. I know what the NGD feeling is like, and this wasn't it. Note, this was NOT from Alamo Music. Just wanted to point that out.

I have this guitar and I love it. However I am finding that the bridge pickup has a lot of feedback when I have my overdrive engaged and I'm within 5 feet of my amp. It goes away if I roll back the tone to about 5. Is this normal? None of my other guitars do this.
@lorenzo6mm3 жыл бұрын
Taming the treble squeal with a tone knob is an old lost Art. It used to be a major part of distortion and sustain. This Deluxe Tele/guitar is obviuoisly voiced for maximum treble. I had a humbucker distortion problem in the same way. I found later, after much consternation , it was particuar to my amp/distortion/ box/eq and not the guitar. Good Luck.
