@ErikSWE10 жыл бұрын
The Fender Japan guitars are indeed high quality (better QC than the US ones for sure), problem is that they false advertise the neck profiles, making them almost Ibanez Wizard-like when they say "C" or "modern C". Imo that makes it harder to find a really good one.

Mexican working in the U.S - $9 an hour. Mexican working in Mexico - $9 a day. thus the difference in price.

I can assure you both, it DOES not sound "AS" good.
@wingsweeklypage80964 жыл бұрын
@JayC23 I beg to differ. I have worked with several professional musicians who argue that Mexicans sound better, as they can still use Nitro versus Poly. The Mexis are now mad to the standards of guitars from the US in the 40s and 50s. I too built a custom out of a Mexi body. Close your eyes and listen to any, they sound just as good, even better in some cases.

I visited this place, workers sleeping on their benches, eating on the spot, the tour guy explaining to a quality control kids that the hardware was not the right one on the guitar he showed us, just in front of me, and I had a Johnny Marr on order at the time! Guess what happened, the tremolo bar was not the right one when it showed up at home 🏡, it was a strat bar, shorter and bigger in diameter. I had to call their customer service 3 times, send pictures to finally get the right bar, pretty disappointing. I don't think I will buy guitars more than 600 to 800💵 anymore. It's the same with Gibson, quality is gone.

I'm just sayin' 😬 I love Fender everything, but..... I worked on a "Custom Shop" beautiful Turquoise 50's Strat and ..... It left the factory like that?? No respect for the end user, unplayable?... yeah somewhat!!!! Selling RocknRoll memories to the baby 🍼 boomers?? Well you need a memory for something that's gone... Just who was it that made it go???

This is one of the better hosts I've seen, actually. While the questions he asks are obvious to you, not everybody is aware of what frets or how many pieces of wood their may be made out of and asking those questions is indicative of a good host. He also pronounced Townshend's name right and doesn't cut off the professionals mid-sentence with ridiculously stupid observations.

All the great necks available on today's guitars with rosewood or other exotic fretboards, bindings, scalloped frets, asymmetrical necks, thin or fat necks, this, that or the other thing....don't even come close to a plain Fender Stratocaster maple neck with nothing added to it. To me, that is THE BEST neck to play on. It really confirms the saying - "The simpler the better".

Hmm. Tried a new Fender MIA Precision yesterday and bought a Squier made in Indonesia Jaguar a month ago. The p-bass was good but I'm afraid the Jaguar plays better and I'm not convinced it sounds worse on the P-pickup (although the J-pickup is weak)... I've got a 1987 made in Japan Fender and it's outstanding. It doesn't really matter where they are made, it's the QC in the factory at the time that really matters. Fender MIA went through a very blue patch in the CBS days.

@johnsoncm65 ..... one can say that about any mass-produced product... yet...when you imagine Leo carving out the shape of the first few Tele`s and Strat`s there is a touch of class and art in that...just because we`re exposed to them every day the items can become quite common...but in their original form they are pieces of ART..and so was the Model T....and by the way..in your name..I mean the `cm65`....is that your size?... 65 centimeters?

@PopExpo Have you ever owned a Gibson? A lot of people that are hung up on Gibsons tend to have a problem with the price tag. 'It's unobtainable, therefore it must be for yuppies.' They're extremely versatile, as are stratocasters. I've owned practically every guitar Fender and Gibson have made, and I can honestly say that they both make unbelievable guitars. I couldn't pick my favourite manufacturer.

Well both Fender Guitars and Gibson Guitars have their own style. How can it be cheesy? But, seriously, I love Les Paul, and SG, buff, Flying V, buff, Explorer, it's ok, but Les Paul, WOOT! I mean Les Paul knew how to make a guitar, and it became a classic. But the rest of the guitars looked like showoffy in a way. But still some people see the beaty, doesn't mean your taste is better and you should question their other taste. Opinions are never right, only correct for the person who haves it.
