Using the bed liner spray was a practical idea, not to mention aesthetically pleasing. When I first starting watching the video, I thought to myself that this is one of those little jobs that you think should only take an hour or two but as soon as you pass the point of no return, you realize that you grossly underestimated the time needed!

Hey Michael, I'm in the market for fixing my fender flares and I found this little gem. I gotta say your camera work has improved by leaps and bounds. No matter though because it's about the message. You nailed this one. So full of great ideas and how to's. I didn't see a notation on buying the replacement plastic clips for flares to go on once you've broken the old ones. Thanks man, entertaining as usual

Thank you for this video and the list of parts n pieces used. I recently rattle canned my 97 40th camouflage green and this was a huge help with the fender flares. The welting & epoxy for plastic repairs have my fender flares dialed in and the ease of clicking on Amazon made it a breeze. I also have wobble free mirrors thanks to your zip tie video. Keep on wheeling kind sir 🤙

Thanks for the video. I have a black 1997 80 Series. This is an upcoming project for me. Nice to see the generic trim works. I wasn’t looking forward to paying $200 for OEM.

You should spray the whole unit in bedliner, it looks sick! And will stay looking good instead of the big scratches all over the paint.

Don't you love how a simple project just snowballs into something major. I like the unedited real time style video! Looks really good this project is on my to do list as well. Where did you get the welting?

You definitely make this look easy! Good video thanks for sharing. I'm doing something really random- making a 2016 Hyundai Tuscon off road ready- and have got myself into a mess. I've cut some fender parts off to make room for wheel space and looks terrible. what fender flares are these? I'm wondering if something similar wouldn't look absolutely terrible on the Tuscon.. any ideas?!

So u just used epoxy, berliner and sandpaper? Gonna try on mine but my rear flares have a lot more scuffs than yours. How has the bed liner held up? Any chipping?

how do you get those dang plastic clips loose/off??
@mattdavis10963 жыл бұрын
You can try to carefully pop them out with a clip puller, but you're likely going to snap them. Go to Toyota and buy new ones. They're about $1 each and 2 male + 2 female for each fender

Not a bad look at all, I have damaged mine on a tuff track and have all the new parts other then 2 items I cant be sure of, "Called Gusset's" Toyota part # 6164660031 for the right rear and 616450020 for the right, Both are for the rear flair where it meets the mud flap, Not sure if the part I have from exploded view are correct and if they are indeed the part I'm look for, Can you confirm or dismiss this part number and it's location ? To remove your rear flairs you would have had to disconnect the mud flaps so I hope you would have some knowledge on this. Cheers Murray QLD Australia

I like the bedliner idea. I'll be doing the same on mine next time I pull them off as they are looking a little ragged from rock rash. FWIW, try using a plastic scraper instead of a razor blade. They're not QUITE as effective and will take a little more work, but they won't scratch the paint at all. Here's what I use: www.amazon.com/Plastic-Double-Edged-Razor-Scraper/dp/B004623NU2/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1509994577&sr=8-8&keywords=plastic+scraper
