I love mine. It’s just about 8lbs. I put flats on and now I love it’s sound even more. Beautiful aesthetic. I’ve gotten a few compliments on both the tone and looks at gigs. Super happy with it.

I think that color is Ocean Turquoise, it looks a bit darker than Tidepool. It’s a beautiful color however!

I think the Player Series play and sound as good as the old American Fenders from years ago. The current American Fenders are kind of elite boutique-ish basses to me. Beautiful for sure but $$$. Nice job Bob!

I've been using a 10 and a half pound squier precision with a Fender 62 pickup in it that sounds great, but I couldn't take the weight anymore so I just pulled the trigger on one of these today. $599 at MF, incredible deal! GC will match that too.

Bob I bought my fist P bass a couple weeks ago. It was the MIM sunburst one. I just recorded with it and Im amazed how easy it is to fit it in a mix. P BASS RULES

Beautiful bass you have there, Bob. I don't think we received this specific finish in Australia. The Tidepool finish with the tortoise shell pickguard, and maple fretboard all combine to give this bass a really nice appearance.

I got mine white with tortoise pickguard, i switched the PU's with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders, and Fender Baddass Bridge Chrome Plated Brass, and Fender American 50s Maple Neck. Now its a top of the line Bass!!! as Is it sounded great, and the Neck was OK i just like Maple better. And i have enough left over parts for another P-bass project, just need a body LOL

Great review. What did you think of the nut? I have the Player fretless Jazz and my only criticism of that is that the edges of the nut are kind of sharp.

If you want to remedy the jagged ends of the nut . This is what I do apply some electrical tape around that area of neck temporarily to protect the wood . Then use a piece of sand paper to smooth it out to my liking . The tape doesn't leave ml much residue and is easy it wipe off .

Sounds pretty "even" all over the neck. You could play it blindfolded and tell its a P.--Most P's USA are heavy, 8 would be the heaviest I'd want ever, I ruined my shoulder with heavy P basses,

Good review and demo . It is a good bass . However the average price 774.99 to 790.00 in CA before taxes . In all sincerity this bass is worth 550 to 590 at the absolute max .

It's not exactly a Moollon Precision ( they're amazing fender style pre cbs style basses / they're more fender than fender lol ) but it still sound good and is quarter of the price ( now ) .
