I own 3 strats, and have played them exclusively for 20 plus years! They sound great, fit me well and won't wear you out playing a late night gig! And anyone with any mechanical skills at all can set up and service their own insturments! Leo got it right the first time!🎸👍

Locking is a must have for me, because it makes string changes so easy. I've got the Player plus with a Fireball humbucker, noiseless single coils, locking tuners and a satin 12" radius neck all stock, but it's close to a thousand, but it's worth it because of the upgrades!

My friend has a PRS he has decided to sell that I covet and may purchase. It’s the old original (I’ve no idea what model name) before they offered a cheaper line, it’s the honey colored, AND it predates the bird inlays on the fretboard that I have never liked. I want it as: it’s a truly stunning instrument, and that that PRS model has, to me, become iconic. I would like to offer a buddy his/her/their choice “grab the Strat or a Tele. Oh, here is a Lester, we got a Ricki 365 or you can pick on this PRS…” However, when I saw the Silver Sky, I thought “So. PRS makes a Fender Stratocaster now? Why? Fender does a pretty good job with Strats already.” Enjoyed the video. Liked, subbed and such. 🙏🏽✌🏽💙 from Minnesota

Like you said; the Player Series is the most economical means to get a new Fender branded instrument. Compared to the Mexican Standard, the Player Series has many of the design features of the American Pro II such as the 22-fret neck, alnico pickups, and the 2-post tremolo (might even be the exact same part number). The Standard was sort of like a "vintage" Strat but with a modern 9.5" neck radius and a modern C neck. I believe it was after 2007/08 that they beefed up the frets to medium jumbo (same, at least on paper, as the American Standard of that era). But now it seems that the old Standard series is sort of in limbo because in some ways, it can be viewed as a "lesser" guitar than the Player and the only thing that saves its re-sale value is that it says "Fender" on the headstock. Not that they're bad guitars, but you can get so much more for your money nowadays from so many other manufacturers and since you'd be on the used market for one, you can find used Player Strats for practically the same or slightly higher price.

Wrong buy a used Classic Vibe or a used player strat ( all player strats are made in mexico ) . ALL of the new ones are overpriced at nobody likes the 30 different models they have now. Ive been owning strats for over 30 yeas not 30 weeks. THIS PAID FOR PROMOTION IS JUST THAT ( I'LL SAY NICE THINGS FOR FREE STUFF JOB )

It's a great guitar for sure, i own a Mustang from the same series and love it. But they are still quite expensive contrary to the Squier series. Sure the Squiers are inferior, but swap the pups for something better and you can have the same guitar for less.

Maybe I’m out of the loop; what is the Mexican Standard? I thought what we used to call Mexican Strats were simply rebranded to the “Player Series” a few years ago

Much prefer the old MIM standards over the player. In quality, woods, build and the addition of Rosewood in the standard over pau fero. Pau fero looks and feels terrible. Only improvement with the player was the pickups and more color options. The current second hand market value of the old standards has gone up, sometimes above the cost of new player hence people realising how good they are. The tuners are exactly the same in the player to the standard.
@Randolphguitars5 ай бұрын
Somebody else said that they must have switched the tuners at some point in the 2000s because the tuners on my 1995 are completely different
