Fender faced a lot of resistance when they launched this line of effects pedals but they seem to have released some real gems.
@BluesLicks1015 жыл бұрын
What resistance?
@sordel58665 жыл бұрын
BluesLicks101 A lot of KZbinrs just weren't interested. Lee Anderton, for example, acted like they existed purely for people who wanted the Fender logo on their pedalboard ... then one of their Overdrives won a blindfold test on the Andertons channel. To be honest I think that the enclosures Fender used don't appeal to the aesthetic of the more traditional guitarist - that may have been a factor. And the digital element is also a problem for some people (less so obviously with a delay) but Fender pedals do seem to sound good overall.

In Fender's latest video, they show how you can set the mod/sub delay's division separate from the main delay's by holding the Tap button while moving the division knob.

I like your way of reviewing this pedal! Especially when you say stuff like "this will probably mean X", then twist the knob and have to say "Oh I was wrong about that!". Lovely unbiased and unprepared. Just the way I start experimenting with my new pedals. Get them out of the box and start twisting knobs to see what they do! I've been a digital-monolith enthusiast for years and am ridiculously well-pleased with my current setup of just an SY-1000 and some extra footswitches. Two pedals, however (besides a looper, which the SY-1000 can't really do), have tempted me to expand beyond the one-size-fits-all multi: The Keeley Dark Side (it comes really close to just being the Gilmour-in-a-box holy grail of Floyd fans who play), and this Fender combo pedal, based pretty much entirely on your enthusiasm in this video. So if I should wind up buying one of these, it's entirely YOUR fault. :P

I bought this pedal a few days and spent probably an hour with it and was rather disappointed with it overall. Some of the problems I had was mainly with two things: the switches (I prefer a soft switch) and the reverb sounds. Of course, Bill here can make a can of dead worms sound amazing, but to my own ears, it isn't a well thought out pedal. The audio quality just wasn't there in terms of depth and colorization. Of course, I'm probably a bit spoiled when it comes to reverb since I own a Strymon BigSky, Meris Mercury 7, Neunaber Immerse, Source Audio Ventris, EarthQuaker Devices Astral Destiny, an older Lexicon reverb rackmount unit (maybe an MPX-1) et. al. The delays on this Fender Reflecting Pool sounded pretty nice. Honestly, I'm not sure why I bought it, but you made it sound so good, Bill. Oh well, at least I was able to send it back since going to a guitar store is pretty much moot at this juncture. (Not that I was a fan of guitar stores much to begin with --- they're just too loud.)
@gigaha Жыл бұрын
Yes those switches are terrible! I tried using this for vocals, and the horrendous clicking sound kept ending up in the signal. I also do not like how the original signal just dies out when you move the LEVEL past noon. I noticed on my Neunaber pedal, the original signal stays present even when the mix is maxed out. In the positive column, the Room and Reverse reverbs were nice on the Reflecting Pool. All that said, which reverb/delays do you use now, @joshuarosendbaum9360? I was not a huge fan of the Source Audio stuff, but I do like Neunaber and the old Lexicon stuff.

No, it is not better - it is different in that it is a delay + reverb.

Is the pre delay only apart of the special reverb or is it built in to each type

Yeah, seems like oyher pedals sound better, though I would need to try one to find out for sure. For example, I was absolutely certain that I would love the Neunaber Immerse, but trying it out in person, I found myself hating the quirky thing and ditched it. I was pretty sure that I wouldn't care much for the TCE Hall of Fame 2, and now that I have one, I freaking love it.

@@Jason75913 I had a HOF1. It was an upgrade from Mooer, but I got a Mercury7 to replace it. Then I missed multiple standard Reverbs, and got the Poly Digit. Then the firmware froze (fixed now), got the Collider. Got the Zoia after that. The HOF was weak though, and one reverb function just up and quit! But all my new Reverbs made that HOF sound like a toy!
