Fender Squier 20th Anniversary Precision Bass Standard Special PJ Demo

Can you name all of the cover tunes played?
I risk life and limb to battle with a Fender Squier 20th Anniversary Precision Bass that needs a new neck. How will this one sound? Is it fat and punchy or does it instead sound thin and nasal? Listen in to the demo to find out!

As an Indonesian-American, I also own some Indonesian-made Squier Basses out there. For the money, their quality in terms of craftsmanship are pretty good. And I wanted to also share some history of the Squier guitars from the late 90s until today. You appear to have an earlier 2002 Precision Bass since the Squier by Fender logo has the “BY FENDER” plainly printed. From late 2002 until 2018, Squier would include the “by Fender” part using the spaghetti cursive Fender logo. They would revert it back to “BY FENDER” again in late 2018 but with a smaller font. There’s a lot of history with Squier, including the fact that Squier existed before Fender. Beforehand, Squier was a company that sold parts for classical music instruments until they shut down in 1975. Fender would resurrect them in 1982 as an official branch for customers who are interested in Fender guitars for cheaper prices, licensed by Fender. It’s now the 2020s and Squier has made some improvements over the last 10 years. You made an honest review and a great demo. So I slapped like on the video. Thanks for sharing! #slappedlike 👍

I have this bass just on red with a white pick guard and it does have that static sound which drives me nuts tried to have it professionally set up but it still does it. Overall it's ok to practice with but I wouldn't gig with it .

I just bought the exact same bass today for $50. Same color, same everything. I didn’t quite hear what you said about the string set up when you were pointing at the headstock. Also, the action is SO high as you mentioned. Do people take mini Allen wrenches and close in the distance? If so, and i hope so, how much would that sacrifice sound? Thanks - long shot here but I googled my purchase and there you were. Great playing btw. Keep it cool!

Replace the bridge with a Fender high mass bridge ($50) and add Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound PJ pickups set - it takes things to an entirely different level. Note that adding the high mass bridge will significantly raise your action so plan on a robust setup to get everything right.

@Solu54 What are your credentials? Have you tried it? I have, and it gives a lot of people a solid bass for a reasonable cost. Oh, and by the way, I own and manage a very successful luthier business.
