@Bully Thakidd, If I had the money I would hang up my guitar and buy a Bass. I'm learning a lot more from the Bass community then the guitar community. awesome channel and lessons. I'm really inspired with Bass.

I always liked white basses, they look so fancy, and that blue pickguard makes it look very nice. But yes, you're right, most of those popular brands like Gibson or Fender are selling their products for very expensive prices, it feels like u're buying musical instruments from Apple.

Nafta Fcked it Up For the American Luthiers,,(Or Rather, Companies!) The Asians have cut into the market for Good and BAD Reasons, "BAD" Being Their Labor Policies, (From what I understand..) Here, Luthiers SHOULD get the Respect they Deserve, the PRIVATE Luthiers too, That being SAID, with CNC, (which Competent Companies have, Including the Asians,) The Prices are RIDICULOUS!! HOW are American Parents Gonna "COMPETE" If they have a Talented CHILD, But Can't AFFORD they Bass or Guitar Their "IDOLS" Play??

I had some Squiers and some were really bad but if you get your hands on a well made one, used and cheap, it would be a great basis for modification because all the fender parts and measures usually fit. That's the best reason to get a SQ in my opinion.

So glad I was able to snag some SX basses back when they were a lot more affordable (and more available, for that matter ... they were scarce for a while there). Thanks to your earlier reviews I feel like I got some of the best bass value for my money back then. Like you said, there's nothing wrong with this Squier bass, but you can get something better for the same price or less.

I just got a SX vintage jazz bass 2nd hand. Previous owner stripped out frets and put the white nylon La Bella on it. Did a Jaco style job on the fretboard - absolute bargain and thing of beauty of a 5 string. Heavier than my 5 string Steinberger Gibson copy but decent string spacing and really ballsy output from passive pickups.

You are speaking the truth nowadays we have so many options such as glarry guitars sire and Allen Eden just to name a few that comes with everything that a bass guitar player needs at affordable price where if you decide to add a preamp it won't hurt your pockets and Squier make good bases but they really need to update the electronics if they want to keep everything at that price

@ineedsomebass 4 жыл бұрын
@Lj Riley If you’re going to add a preamp, you may as well swap out the pickups. Average pickups with a preamp just gives you more of what you already have, which is an average sound.🙂✌🏾❤️🎶

@@ineedsomebass I most definitely agree get rid of them old pickups as well the only problem is trying to find something that will fit most of the cheaper bass without hurting the pockets

@Lj Riley Facts. I got a set of Duncan quarter pounders for around $125.00 for the set. Not too expensive. I like to tinker, so I added an Aguilar preamp and a Badass bridge. Now, I’d put my Squier up against any bass in the $1000 range.🙂✌🏾❤️🎶

i tried both last week, the 70s and 77. awesome neck for both, the 70s is heavier though. both sound great with all stock. was going to get the affinity but now ive decided to get the 77. only reason i can get it real cheap. the v3 is super versatile too, great weight to it and so much of controls too, its actually got more bass and mids compared to the v7.

I just bought the same bass guitar off of eBay. I also have the seventies p-bass that I just purchased from a local music store. I could not find the white bass and the lineup? Squier by Fender Vintage Modified 70’s Reissue Jazz Bass! RI Bass! #44191. I typed in that and found the bass going for anywhere between five hundred and $800!. I got mine for 275 dollars. Anyways this is the first video I've seen on it. I absolutely love this instrument

Will be interested in your experience with magnets. Might be cool to also use some spectrum analysis daw plugin to see if the frequency response is changed? I did the magnet thing on a Squier VM Jaguar Short Scake jazz pickup. The original output was just 4.1k and of course it is so close to the bridge so even lower output. Putting neodymium on the back didn't make much difference. When I tried to knock the pole pieces in I broke the coil - turned out to be a very positive thing because I got some Ironstone Jazz pickups (including dummy noise cancelling coil) and the passive output from Tony's pickups was around 7.1k with great tone. Had to route out the pickup cavity a little to fit it but so glad I did. So whilst it's more expensive than magnets the difference was immense. I also noticed the Alnico pole pieces nicely straddled the 4 strings - the original was never seemingly aligned. These pickups, albeit I live in the UK, were dirt cheap in the scheme of things. It was something like £60 - 70 for front, rear and dummy coil. I only used the rear so I was thinking of getting a Glarry 4 string Jazz bass in the future, another rear pickup from Ironstone and then fit them. Or a 2nd hand Squier.

Ok, I’ve seen this and your video on the Allen Eden Disciple 5. I’m making the move to the 5 from the 4. In your opinion, which bass feels/plays better? Electronics aside (I’m only concerned with playability), which would you recommend to an experienced player who’s making the transition? Respect.🙂✌🏾❤️🎶

I bought a used Sire V7 in November 2019, ash maple in sunburst finish, 5 string and it is the most recent addition to my collection that previously had had 2 basses in it. It is the greates bass I ever had. I would like to add to my collection the 4th bass. Is Squier vintage modified Precision or Jazz fretless a good choice ? I would like better to have Sire P7, but it is not available in my country.
