Fender Tone Master FR-10 FR-12 Cab..Does it HISS??

This is my experience with the Fender Tone Master FR-10

I have the FR12 and it's a non issue. I get more noise and hiss from a tube amp on the gain channel. It just sounds like it's on. In fact had I not read about it I wouldn't have even known it was there.

Thanks for the upload. I do hear the hiss. I notice your playing environment is a bit loud. Would love to see you bring up a db meter and show the db levels your hiss is at. A distance form the speaker and then up against the cloth.

The only hiss I hear is the hot air coming out of everyone complaining that the hiss has any effect on the sound while playing music.

The issue is real. And the amp is $500+ when comparable products at half the price are dead silent, which is a big deal when recording. I’d say it’s worth complaining about. You actually own one or used one in a recording environment? If not, who gives 2 shits about your opinion?

Just bought a FR-12 about a month ago. No hiss at all. Just wondering if some are hooking up their FR cab from output 1 with standard guitar cable (Unbalanced). Output 1 is a balanced output needing a TRS cable. Output 2 is unbalanced and can be utilized to use a guitar amp (return on effects loop) and so on. Not sure if this is the issue but worth noting.

Also, killer tone! It’s a great speaker! The hisss sucks when you have to play closer to the speaker and your environment is quiet. I have the fr12. It’s great! Especially when you crank it! It does bass drums justice too when you use backing tracks.

Ever play on on a peavey 5150? almost unusable without a noise gate. This is nothing. You have to be in a dead noiseless environment to hear it. Don't judge hiss by listening in a bedroom with something that is meant for gigging.

I have pretty bad hiss when playing my acoustic - if I play a bit louder I can't hear it. It's called tinnitus. Stop being princesses and get on with it !

@@joshuabenton3785 even both my Jazz Chorus amps have a small amount of hiss. It goes away when you're playing. I was at a school play and they had Peavy cabs. Hissed like a mother with the volume up. In those situations, hiss isn't acceptable. For a miniscule amount from the FR, is no biggie to me.

They will never sound like a tube amp! There is a fine hiss to them. Get your decibel meter to see. For the love of all things guitar!! My tube amps make all kinds of hiss and hum and feedback. What a joke, not once in the 4 weeks I’ve owned the fr12 did I think it was a problem. In fact I think I’m getting another one tomorrow so I can have hiss in stereo. Wonder if the people crying about the hiss ever had a tube amp?
