You can also use midi expression pedal. I use boss ev-1-wl for instance.
@scottbecker3485 Жыл бұрын
Interesting. Do you use it wirelessly? If so, how?
@paulshedden1404 Жыл бұрын
I understand the Mission design comment, but there are advantages and disadvantages of side or front input/output jacks. You can always use a TRS/TS cable with a right angle jack to have the cable run along side the expression pedal.
@damionandy Жыл бұрын
I hear you, Paul. I am used to having a Wah pedal on the right side and was hoping to keep it snug to the TMP on a pedal train board or something like that. I know they also make flat cables, I'm just not ready to spend more money on it and will complain about the design lmao. You're right tho. I had this setup when I did the Addams Family

I'M trying to do these steps but dont work, pedal turn off after input the footswitch
@PeterFranklin-v7o Жыл бұрын
Andy. I think if you also assign the toe switch on/off to the pedal for the volume when it is in the opposite state to the wah then you don’t need to assign a footswitch. One press will have wah on/volume off the next wah off/volume on?
@damionandy Жыл бұрын
Yeah but I would worry about pedal position. If you’re on the heel and you click into volume, you have none. I wouldn’t do that unless you’re really comfortable with it
@PeterFranklin-v7o Жыл бұрын
@@damionandy Hadn’t thought of it that way. I just tested it and it seems that it works the other way. When ever you press the toe switch the Wah follows it all the way so you always have full toe Wah when you switch and that goes to full volume, probably not ideal either. I used to have a GTX100 amp and I seem to recall that having an option for the expression pedal to revert to either physical pedal position or preset stored position. That would seem to be something useful on the TMP also.

Hey Damion, awesome video and awesome content on the channel, man! I own an FV-500H Boss pedal, that have INPUT/OUTPUT/EXP jacks. I want to use as a volume pedal, but to control the whole volume that goes to the amp (end of chain), not the volume that comes from the guitar (beggining of chain). Do you know if there's a way that I could do that? But I also don't want to not have the option of using the XLR outputs. What I am thinking was: Guitar -> TMP TMP Output -> Pedal Input Pedal Output -> TMP again (on some port that I don't know which) TMP XLR -> Mixer Does that makes sense? Am I going crazy? Thanks man! Keep up the great work!
@damionandy6 күн бұрын
Man, I’d keep it way simpler than that. The Tone Master Pro already has a built-in volume pedal. Here’s what I’d suggest: connect your EXP jack -> TMP expression input. Then, just add the volume pedal in front of the amp within the TMP as you mentioned you wanted. Alternatively, you could set up a button to control the overall amp volume, which might be a cleaner solution (unless there’s a specific reason you need to control everything hitting the amp). Using a button to toggle the BOSS pedal as the volume controller is like saving yourself the hassle of buying another pedal with a built-in button. You’d just need to program the expression pedal to manage the amp level. If you’re into diving deeper into setups like this, you should definitely check out my tone course, bro-it goes into way more detail than I can cover in a comment. Anyway, hope this helps, homie! Let me know how it works out for you!
@LuisFelipeMendesChiaradia2 күн бұрын
@ yeah, that's probably what I am gonna go for. I wish there a was a simpler way, like on settings assigning a global exp effect. Like, EXP2 would be my global volume, so I can control volume on all presets without having to add a volume pedal to each one of them. Thanks anyway! Keep up the good work!
@ArtNelson-lu8rp9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. With the standard Mission expression pedal with a toe with, it will only work if you use a TRS cable for both of the outputs.

Hi Damion, is there a way when ur using an Exp Pedal as volume control, if the position is on zero level when u change a patch it will be on zero too? Or if 50% level it will be d same on the next patch u will use. Coz, whenever i change patch, the level i saved it will be the level it will be on unlike on some other fx like fm9. Im using a Mission Engr-ing QC XP pedal btw.
@damionandy9 ай бұрын
You can use it as a volume pedal by creating a volume pedal on your preset. There’s currently, to my knowledge, no way to control global volumes. This is my biggest gripe on the TMP; however, I’m aware of it and try to make my patches the same volume to avoid this and I just never use the 100+ factory default tones

Great video once again. How are you recording noise free? I always get noise coming through. So many volumes to set (amp level, preset level, mixer level). I’m going wrong somewhere.
@damionandy Жыл бұрын
I’m recording straight from the 2 XLR out into a scarlet interface. Both gain knobs on the scarlet are at 0. I just watch the gain staging and make sure I’m staying in the green when recording by using the master mix knob
@srcottle3212 Жыл бұрын
@@damionandy I’ve been trying via usb to cut out the interface but very low signal to the computer. When I push the output and preset levels it improves but get a little of floor noise too. I think a lot of people will try and use it this way so maybe a video on using it as an interface might be popular. Thanks for the reply. Keep up the great work with the videos.
@damionandy Жыл бұрын
@@srcottle3212 if you're getting noise, change outlets. You may have a noisy circuit. If you still have noise, consider getting a power distributor ($100 for a high end one). For volume, click the master mixer and set your USB volumes to 0 DB. Then check your amp volume.

Hey, I’m enjoying your videos! Huge question here. I’m struggling to get a great fender clean back in my monitor ears. You being a sound guy, what is the best setting hitting the board? They always see too much gain from me and I’m having to run my master out at about 20% is there a line level setting for the out to board? Also line level gain but what about my ear level coming back to me so I can set my ear pack at 80% and dial it back if needed. I’m running a lukather boost in front of the input, not sure if that’s causing issues. I can try loop 1 but I want it in from of the amps. A deep dive pa/ear mons would be great so we can all communicate with our sound guys👍👏👏👏
@damionandyАй бұрын
yeah, I run my TMP about 20-25% at band rehearsal through our PA system. The alternative is to keep your preset volumes low and boost your output. That boost could be adding the dirt. take it out and experiment. It's hard to say without being able to hear it directly. If you can't get it figured out and want me to work with you on it, book a call here: www.patreon.com/DamionAndy/shop/remote-consulting-session-1-hour-769403?source=storefront

Hi, Thanks for your video. I have a Fender Exp1 Expression pedal that I use with a Fender Mustang GT200 where there are 2 connections. One goes to the GT200 Amplifier and the other goes to another MS-4 Footswitch pedal. How should I connect it to the Toner Master Pro?

Can you set the expression pedal as “auto-return” so that the pedal activates simply by pressing it down rather than having to stomp on a separate button to activate the pedal? Basically can you have it be on bypass in the up position and then be turned on simply by pushing the pedal down?
@damionandy5 ай бұрын
I know this is available on the AxeFx3, but I’m not 100% it’s on the TMP. I honestly don’t like this because the axefx3 expression pedal will activate when I don’t intend to use it.

Would the headrush expression pedal be a suitable option to fender pedal? Is the headrush pedal restricted to momentary toe switch. (I noticed momentary toe switch mentioned on an Amazon advert).

Hi. I haven't gotten it to work. I have configured it as you do in the video but it has not worked. I use a TRS cable and a normal guitar cable and I have connected it to Exp1 and/or to the TOE Switch, making all possible combinations (the Fender type pr 1157 pedal has a switch button under the lever and 2 inputs: a mustang AMP and MS-4 Footswitch). I'm a little lost and sad

Hey Brian! I would look at how I programmed the phaser and replicate that with the mix. You will just have to do 2 pedals with one button (not an issue). Make sure both of the pedals you are using have a mix for each. I guess you COULD assign the toe switch to control both! Keep me posted how it works for you

Hi Damion, Thank you very much for your videos that help me a lot and, again, I want to ask a question. Taking into account the difficulty in finding the mission engineering sp1-tmp tone master pro expression pedal, could you recommend another pedal that allows volume control and the wah wah? Kind regards
@damionandy11 ай бұрын
Just depends if you want the toe switch or not. The TMP doesn't support auto wah (yet), but you can always tap a button to turn Wah on and control it with ANY expression pedal. You can use any Mission Engineering pedal - check this one out www.amazon.com/Mission-Engineering-SP1-ND-Cortex-Expression/dp/B09MWL41VZ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=5H4EFBV5H1IJ&keywords=mission+engineering+expression+pedal&qid=1708116130&sprefix=mission+pedal%2Caps%2C120&sr=8-2

No, not wirelessly. It can work in three ways, wireless, std wired and usb. I use std midi cable. I set separate parameters when it’s on and off this way I can control wah and volume. Toe switch ignites wah.
