Got mine today and check the site for another and it’s sold out, glad I got my hands on one. It’s a really clean looking flashlight 🔦 who carries so much class wherever it goes and it performs really well. I have no complaints!

Looks like a great light! The Fenix PD40R V2 is even brighter and punches out a little farther but it has a rotary switch and I think it's larger. Some customer reviewers on amazon said it's not very bright but they must be on crack because it's insane.

This is the video I needed. I'm also choosing between the fc12 pd35 and 32 and now I know the 35 is the best choice for me. Very good video thanks for your time. Will the pd35 accept a flat top battery?

I haven't tried, but I have noticed Fenix prefers their own batteries much of the time. I'm sure it would.

@@BurntPlaydoh Yep, you'd probably get some flickering if the battery wasn't long enough. I've had that before with the TK22.

Don't know if this has the same reverse polarity protection inside as my PD36R so that would mean it will only take button tops.

Some would say so, but I don't see them as actually "green." Might depend more on your tint preferences, but I suppose some would see them that way, as more of a "dull" green.

In your video was it running at max output? It didn't seem to drop output while you were using it, even when you said it was getting "hot". Is it generally good for temperatures and thus not reducing in output? The spec sheets are really not very useful for judging this, and few if any videos cover this aspect (even if off-camera to state some figures). I can't decide between PD36 TAC (seems to be a cool runner even at max output), or PD35v3. I like the beam of the E35v3 but it gets hot quickly and drops output within a few minutes from what I can tell. A great video with no nonsense. Just straight, good comparisons. Even considering the light from the street lamps, these seem very strong lights!

I am considering adding this light to my Fenix collection. Until it became lost, I had an original PD35 which I considered a nice thrower at the time, and it had a nice bright spill. It was great for hiking in the woods. Does this newest version still have a nice bright spill beam? Also, you say the PD 32 is not as bright and has a cooler beam, but its looks like there is more detail in the trees with that light. Is that just how the camera is picking it up?
@ChalliceofLight3 жыл бұрын
You would not want for anything, I can confidently say. It's like a scope of light, as you can see.

@@ChalliceofLight so no bright spill, or it has a perfect beam??
@ChalliceofLight3 жыл бұрын
@@karl3349 That is relative. It depends what you mean.
@stevo11663 жыл бұрын
@@karl3349 I dont have on of these particular lights .....yet, but from others I have similar and watching the video, I believe the spill will be perfectly adequate and comfortable for walking etc. , I even find the spill off larger head throwers like my olight m3xs and convoy c8 osram nm1 quite usable👍, (that convoy, a beast of a thrower for its size and price!!)
@weldonyoung10139 ай бұрын
@karl3349 , have you considered adding a diffuser to your FENIX flashlight(s), that should reduce the bright spot light effect. I'm not sure which FENIX flashlight this accessory is made for, so you'll have to check.

TN12 PRO or this one? Which did you prefer?

Um...probably TN12 Pro, but only because of the thrower and more concretely congealed beam. The UI of the Fenix is unbeatable.

No generally on all FENIX flashlights the tail switch rubber cap protrudes past the metal protecting. The protrusions is just enough to prevent standing on tail end, but others have suggested placing in a cup like object.

@@MrScrappydue sorry it is not my KZbin video. But if you are up to it. Could you tell me how the beams - spot & spread - of the two versions compare.
@MrScrappydue9 ай бұрын
@@weldonyoung1013 I’d say there about the same but the V3 has a bit more throw with a brighter spot. Walking around a dark dirt road I found there was little flood light coming out of the v3. I’m in my 60s and I need some flood so I can see pot holes and such. I think younger people would have no problem getting around with this light. When I did a video I was working under light pollution and I still thought the V3 was worth buying. I noticed more flood light at 1-300 yards. I didn’t know a tow truck driver was in our parking lot and he got some of that flood light, he got pretty angry at me. I don’t shine my light at cars parked or otherwise. The lot is 280 yards long with cars on both sides. I figure he was at 100yards. My first thought was this light has some bright spill light to it. He was really angry. I don’t do videos anymore because the lot is full of parked cars on both sides.

@@MrScrappydue thank you, pretty much confirmed what I've been able to determine from watching a few other videos. I am also in my middle 60s. Do agree with you that all Fenix PD35 version are more of a spot beam. If you've even gone into rocky woods without leaves I'm betting you would be displeased with the beam spread. Did you know there is a Diffusion accessory for Fenix flashlights, I have not checked it is designed for the PD35 though.
