Children grow up to live what they learn. You don't see that this woman was born into dysfunctional unstable life? And for the same reason you're saying children need a good home well, when they don't get one, they still mimic what they saw growing up. It's not like they suddenly can say oh y'all I need to be responsible and stable and economically independent sober person so I can have a child. it's not magic. You don't just suddenly know something that you've never been taught. It's called intergenerational trauma for a reason.

@@Xyz46786 I didn't miss anything. This woman was born to parents who didn't know how to parent. Do you think that they came from good parents? Her family didn't choose to be fucked up, they came from a family where they were not properly loved, or parented. If you're not taught by your environment or your community, or your family, how to be responsible or how to be loved, and not showed love, then it is something you do not know. But at the same time, you also don't know that you're doing it wrong. Children grow up to live what they learn.

You are amazing!!! Always remember this! As a support/crisis intervention worker, I know factually, that this epidemic is pulling people in from ALL walks of life. Yes, it seems like some have no choice, and some are actually born addicted, from our doctors, to all humans, this is a huge crisis, and we all MUST be compassionate and empathetic. Let's be real.. tough love does NOT work!!! It's a concept that all those grieving over moms, dads, brothers, sisters, sons daughters, friends etc. If tough love was used, they are looking back and hurting that they walked out of their loved ones lives, and lost them anyways. Let's learn to love, help, give, get educated and get involved. Street drugs are poisoned and are killing thousands. Clean drugs save lives. Your help and understanding, is the only way we'll be able to turn this around!

I had a heroin addiction that i kicked in 2015 just before the fentanyl epidemic. later i had two relapses w Fent that lasted less then 3 days each. That short window gave me a taste of just how acute Fent withdrawal is and worse it is than heroin WD. You can tell it is synthesized which somehow makes it colder and insidious hook that penetrates down to the molecular level into your cells. Heroin withdrawal is a nightmare but Fentanyl is absolutely unbearable. I feel deeply for these humans living though this impossible hell.

Whatever you stance on abortion, banning it is going to industrialize the misery and abuse if the foster care system. Private prison corporations are getting in on it. Already some states are starting to privatize their foster care systems. Privatizing it means their will be MUCH less oversight, regulations, and it adds a profit motive. A few red states (they like to privatize everything) are already giving contracts and funding to private prison corporations to build, run, and staff, their own foster care facilities. Its terrible.

No interview on this channel resonated with me as much as this one and i watch swu since the very first video. Cassie if you read this: You are self aware and intelligent as pointed out in many other comments. What will make your life better is your focus on the future. Its all about what you can do with your current ressources to better your situation. You are doing it! You got your insurance and applied for ssi, you can be proud of yourself! Get on the methadone and consider dumping your boyfriend (seems like he is holding you back, care for yourself before you can care for others) I suffered from trauma and resulting depression for nearly all my life, was addicted to opiates for a couple years. I was on subutex for the past three years and since two months completely clean. Seems like i have made my dream job a reality too (managing two greenhouses). Cassie, Uncle Gary from NJ. You know that we are here for you as we have been for 25 plus years. You have stayed with Erin, your cousins, and I off and on for several years. I don't like to hear how you perceived your life broadcast like this. There were so many things I didn't know and also a lot of that's not factual... Jen never found your father beaten to death. Uncle Brian and Uncle John found him in the driveway of his appartment. He fell from the balcony. Why lie about that? Not one of your aunts or uncles has ever shut the door on you. I had no idea that you were in this predicament because you left and never contacted us. Again, my number, your aunts, and cousins' numbers all haven't changed.

When she is strong enough, she should start a soccer program for at risk teens. She can use her life experiences to give someone else a better life.❤

I feel like if she didn't fall into drugs she would've been a huge nerd and I would've loved to befriend her :( I hope she gets better and even if she can't have her own blood kids--maybe she can adopt one day ;w;

I wish Cassie well. The very elaborate stories that are being told seem very much made up to excuse her addiction. I could definitely go into each part of this interview, but there is no point. I hope she gets the help she needs.❤

She is one bad ass woman! I love her boss energy. Her mom was a true feisty woman. Energy can’t be destroyed. So if she can transform her energy into a positive lifestyle, she could have so much potential!

Cassie, it's not to late for your dream! I hurts me to say this, but you need to think about you, and leave your boyfriend. He's not your responsibility. Go to rehab and let him decide if he also wants to go. If not, you go. Save yourself, Cassie. You would be an absolutely amazing therapist or coach for kids in need. You've experienced so much. You can be such a great help for others. You can't learn what you know from books. Your knowledge is worth a lot. You're worth a lot! I hope you get use of the Methadone and really gets your life on track. It would be so amazing to see a video of you a year from now with you being clean in i sober living, in therapy and with plans about studying. Think about that. Lots of love and all the luck in the world to you.
