@@norahsmith3320 Although suicide is highly selfish, it is also irrational & at times delusional, thinking stemming from deep rooted pain, depression/anxiety, complex PTSD, fear, guilt/shame. The majority of suicidal people feel so much encompassing intense mental, emotional, & for some physical pain, that they feel ending their life would benefit the ones they love/others instead of hinder and continue to cause pain in their lives as well. I now have 6yrs clean/sober, though have been suicidal many times during my 20yrs of hardcore addiction, & even as a child who was being sexually abused by my own father, ignored, not seen/heard by my absent mother. Believe me, I was born extremely empathic (indigo) & always have very strong, unconditional love for so many others, especially family, & the LAST thing I would want to do is cause any of them any pain/ suffering. But when your suicidal, you honestly think their lives would be better without you. So to say not sure if his love for her was unconditional because he was so full of pain that he just could not continue to face life, is not cool & not fair. I have known quite a few people who are very dear to me that took their own life, & like me they had so much love for others, but just could not love themselves. I am still a work in progress, but getting there. So please have compassion & empathy for others, especially since this could easily be you & God is the ONLY ONE Who has a right to judge.

They’re not all well and justified, but you can’t know their agony, and many of them weigh the cost of family’s reaction of pain to their death, and obviously decide their own pain is worse than the pain their family will experience in their death.

My mom grew up being raped by her father and physically abused as well. She was run off by her father at 18 when she didn’t come home the night before. My mom didn’t come home because a man she knew from work raped her and wouldn’t let her leave. That person is my father. She had no other option but to go to him because she had no where to go. They got married and still are today. Talked about a fucked up childhood. My parents should have never married and had four children, but that’s life I suppose. The point of this story is that my mom was permanently damaged, but she never allowed any of things that happened to her to be done to us. This is the first time I have shared this, but I feel like if any place is understanding to fucked up lives it’s this one. The cycle of abuse can be broken. It just takes wanting more for your children and the children that come after.

Sorry, but it takes more than 'wanting'. Most parents want better for their kids, it's hardwired into us. Sometimes we are simply unable to follow through. Mental illness and addiction are commonly the culprits. I'm happy for you that your mom was able to break the cycle but please don't dismiss this lady and others like her as weak or defective because she couldn't.

Psychologically, she is still a young girl, as the trauma in her childhood started young & has never really ended. I’m so upset & surprised that none of her teachers or even a social worker reached out to her &, ‘took her under her wing.’ Having a positive relationship &/or role model with one of her female teachers, etc, could have made the difference in the direction her life took. @Josey Methadone doesn’t & can’t, ‘get you high,’ which is the reason it is used to help people ween off of opioids. It binds to the Opioid-Receptors the way that other opioids do, which helps to prevent severe withdrawal, however, it does not bind to the receptors that make us feel, ‘high.’ However, methadone should not be taken continuously, as is mentioned above. It is meant to be a stop-gap between other Opioids, to slowly wean people off of the drugs they they previously abused. Most Heroin Addicts say that they no longer really use to get high, but instead, to prevent them from, ‘getting sick,’ (severe withdrawal symptoms).

Michelle, go to Teen Challenge (not only for teenagers). It's a free rehab; one year program. Get clean and sober. Get a job. Save some money. Move back to Indiana. Get a job. Get set up. Get your kids back or at least visitation. Use this video to get people to help you. You can do it! I've personally met many people like you who did. I will pray for you. DO NOT KILL YOURSELF. Your kids need you. They are more important than your book. It can wait. At Teen Challenge you will meet plenty of people who are former junkies who are now sober and thriving. And I've seen several of the interviews where the interviewee makes a fair effort to take personal responsibility. This channel shakes me psychologically, and really makes me think to find new equilibrium. And I'll admit: I have thought along the lines of your comment alot. "These people are losers" "These people could just take responsibility (listen to some Jordan Peterson and Jocko Willink lol) and change their lives. But they choose not to so they're pathetic". But the more I listen to these, and reflect on my own upbringing (in Pine Bluff, Arkansas). I would be absolutely fucked if I had been molested, or handed a meth pipe, or if any number of situations had gone differently. I DO believe in character, and personal responsibility.. deeply. But people, like this woman, have been dealt a rough fucking hand. 'Makes it hard for me to judge her that thoroughly. I'll judge her surface, and I'll judge myself thoroughly.. but at the end of the day I can only wish her the best and keep it moving. Carrying disdain won't get us very far.

I can relate to her more than I can explain. The childhood trauma, the CSA happened to me in my teens, the system taking my child… when my child was taken, I had already lost everything… my home, my ex husband who left me, everything. Then I lost my mind. I was hooked on all kinds of drugs off and on since the age of 13, I had stayed clean when I found out I was pregnant and for the first 2 years of his life. But losing my child was the last straw. They gave my son to his dad, who is still to this day a manipulative SOB. I became addicted to coke. I have 18 years clean off hard drugs, with 2 relapses, the last happening over 10 years ago. I decided to leave my hometown for the last time in 2016, and moved 2300 miles away for a better life because I was tired of fighting. I fought the system and my son’s dad for 11 years before I decided I had to go. I moved, built a life with my now amazing husband and I made sure I would have a safe place for my child to come when they were ready to know all of the truth. I couldn’t keep fighting with the system and having them flung around while his dad used him as a tool to manipulate me. I couldn’t keep doing it to my child or myself. My child is now 20. We have had a relationship since they were 17, and they now know all of the truth. As a matter of fact, they visited me for a year and now they are coming back to live in the state I am in, permanently. I say all this for this point: Life is hard af, it will kick the shit out of you, and if you don’t understand this woman’s story, consider yourself absolutely fucking lucky. We do recover. We do make it. I hope this woman is doing ok now. Her story hit me super hard.

As an RN for 25 years I don't understand the amount of pain meds she was on for the car accident! No doubt she had pain but she was getting what oncology patients would get. This was the era of over prescribing where pharma got rich and America got addicted. Inexperienced physicians in small town America was bought and sold and no one questioned what was essentially small amounts of synthetic heroin. Rats in research would kill anything in their way to get more. I wanted to quit as a nurse in the 2010 era when I saw how people were addicted so fast, I medicated my patients with so much Oxycontin and Oxy ER I knew it was no good. I also knew during the era of cutting people off it was going to cause people to go to street drugs as a replacement and that's how we got here. And now Fentanyl used for the dying is all over the streets! This is China trying to kill us, we need to do everything we can to get Americans up off their knees if we want to survive.

yeah was a teacher too that helped me at school. my father beat me so bad as a girl 15 that my whole thigh was black and i had trouble walking. i was a quiet bookworm kid. he picked on me because hes crazy evil still is too. he knew i couldnt stand him so he beat sht out me for that fact. he got away with it though, the thigh being all black with bruising. i begged school to have social work take me away. no social work was called by 16 he tried to strangle me my father my judo training is what saved my life as i started to p ass out i managed to throw him off. i ran off was homeless

This was a really tough one. She suffers so much, and seriously has a death wish. She's one of those that feels like, "if it kills me, it kills me; I don't care." I heard a man on here (also addicted to fentanyl) say that before. Very sad.. Too many people just don't understand the intense importance of parenthood!

What an incredibly strong and wise woman. She’s so right when she mentions it’s best to not dwell on our past. My heart goes out to her and I wish her some relief and happiness. I do believe her story and feel awful I can't imagine. I do agree with comments I can't wrap my head around the 1st husband's death. She thought he was clean but it was normal for her to give him drugs to help sleep. Also why she was in Colorado for a week doing acid while her kids were with stuck with an addict. I'm sure her trauma and addiction contributes to her poor decision making but man.... that's 5 more stories that could end up on this channel for her 1. So sad I'm hoping the best for those kids I hope they're okay.

It is hard to hear or believe when their story doesn’t add up. Why? Why do women have kids? She had five! When her childhood was not good? It’s generational trauma. Her kids will suffer as she did. I've watched a lot of these videos and this one may have broken my heart the most. I don't know what was going on in the foster dads head (PTSD?) but it's easy to see that if he didn't make the decision to commit suicide, this ladies life may have been completely different. It's so heartbreaking.

@@ProphetJayWyatt You are very wrong in my opinion. I was addicted to pain pills after surgeries. About 13 years addicted. I would go through a script of 90 pills in just a few days. I have been clean since 1/16/2019. At first I went 16 days with nothing. Then I got suboxone. It don't touch my pain but it stops the withdrawal symptoms. Even with me taking suboxone when I have to go to the ER (I have Crohns disease) they always insist I take a pain shot. I have to repeatedly tell them I am a recovering addict. They still try pushing it. You say the government is the dealer for folks on suboxone, methadone, ect. Who do you think was the dealer with the other pain meds? I got mine legally and bought others. It was the doctors not informing me how addicted they can be. After just a couple scripts your physical body becomes addicted. Let alone the mental. The doctors were always the dealers.

Thank you. I raised my kids telling them that homeless guy is there cuz events and circumstance, addiction builds with pain, pain persists cuz addiction. We act different roles in different periods of our lives so you can’t stigmatize a person, in one day things can turn, opportunity, perception, support, encouragement. In years this person who is lost could rise back, and that other person who think they’re superior could also collapse. Those who look at damaged people with judgement wouldn’t last half a day with the bagage they carry, the scars, the isolation. They wouldn’t even be able to be thankful for little things like struggling people are. Fresh laundry, strawberries in the winter, the sun on your cheeks.

the most horrific life story i have heard and the most strongest human i have heard speak. with all the trauma's and abuse and addiction and even death and brain damage - she is still extremely intelligent and well spoken. so brave and honest. this woman is a good person. I hope that she writes that book and she finds a way to sell it and she finds her way out of addiction. make her money , live the rest of her life helping other girls who are young and traumatized . she would be amazing at that.
