Watch Next: The Generation Lost To The Opioid Epidemic - bit.ly/2Ph4vVZ

crazy this drug was created to help people, but became a worldwide drug addiction from Wikipedia, 'Fentanyl, also spelled fentanil, is an opioid used as a pain medication and together with other medications for anesthesia.[3] It is also used as a recreational drug, often mixed with heroin or cocaine.[5] It has a rapid onset and its effects generally last under two hours.[3] Medically, it is used by injection, nasal spray, skin patch, or absorbed through the cheek (transmucosal) as a lozenge or tablet.[3][6] Common side effects include vomiting, constipation, sedation, confusion, hallucinations, nausea, and injuries related to poor coordination.[3][7] Serious side effects may include decreased breathing (respiratory depression), serotonin syndrome, low blood pressure, addiction, or coma.[3][7] Fentanyl works primarily by activating μ-opioid receptors.[3] It is around 100 times stronger than morphine, about 50 times stronger than heroin. Some fentanyl analogues such as carfentanil are up to ~10,000 times stronger than morphine.[8]'

Oh my god this past October, I fell out with a rig in my arm and pinched a nerve in my leg. In my sleep, I also suffered a stroke. I woke up covered in sweat and pee and when I got up, I fell to the ground. Like this man, I freaked out and called my parents immediately. I was rushed to the hospital and was told what had happened to me the night before after a series of tests. I’m back on methadone now and trying to take my recovery seriously for the first time in my life. No one wants to be a drug addict when they grow up. Please be kind. Addiction is a disease and it’s not an easy road to recovery.

I hope your road to recovery has gotten smoother!! Glad you’re alive. Feel free to reach out if you need any tips or advice. I was a heroin/fentanyl addict for over a decade. Tomorrow is my 2.5 years clean off opiates entirely. No maintenance drugs 🙏🏻

Me and my dad both OD'd on Fent 3 years ago. We were drinking vodka and smoking pure fent. Woke up 12-15 hours later covered in puke with red puke in 4 spots all over the carpet. My dad was unconscious laying next to me making horrible death sounds with his face in the carpet. My left arm was swollen like a balloon (apparently from laying on it while passed out). I tried to get up but couldn't stand. Took me 30 mins to crawl to a phone and call 911, where the operator proceeded to ask me 10,000 questions about covid symptoms. Ambulance came and loaded us up. I was in hospital for 4 days, my dad was 1 floor above me in the same hospital. He had hypoxia (brain damage) and was hospitalized for 41 days, of which he remembers very little. He now has a disease called "myoclonus" (or clonus) where he shakes and jerks his limbs uncontrollably all the time and I am his caretaker. Luckily, he did make a good recovery mentally so I am grateful to God for that much...If he was a vegetable, I'd never forgive myself. How are you doing Rebecca Marie?

I know I will get backlash for this, but here goes: 23 year old guy working in a cup cake shop, who is gay, a smoker, full of tattoos and was willingly using fentanyl as his recreational drug of choice and had experienced overdoses before from the drug. I am leaning towards a serious lack of parenting here. Be more strict with your kids. It's your duty to protect them from the big bad world out there and keep them on the straight and narrow. 23 and now fucked from lifestyle choices. Very tragic.

what does gay have to do with parenting @@keithesaf08
@MyNextShotWontMiss5 жыл бұрын
@@keithesaf08 Nope, I had good parenting. I had an older brother who turned me onto drugs at 11 years old. I was addicted to heroin for 10 years straight. The addiction is not comparable to anything and I don't think people without addiction could understand its power. This isn't about not having good discipline or bad parenting. I've been sober many years. Edit: Maybe there were some bad lifestyle choices in his case, I can't speak to that. But addiction isn't a lifestyle choice. I've known every type of heroin addict, from wealthy business owners who you would never think did dope to people living on the streets, where the addiction is something they all had in common.

I have 639 days clean as of today, but I kinda noticed a few things over the past two years. It was alot worse in the first year, but I just don't feel as sharp as I was, which is kind of a understatement. There are time I completely forget what I'm talking about in conversations. I'll literally forget what I want to say mid sentence. It gets so frustrating and embarrassing. I sometimes have to ask the person "I'm sorry, but what was I just telling you?". I literally forget as I'm saying it.

Basic empathy in '18 is astounding across all boundaries. No, you shouldn't "feel bad for him bc he got himself addicted to harsh drugs." You should feel bad for your heart, and how fast it dishes out harsh judgement.

People have come to lack empathy because it promotes stagnation and inaction. For instance, the names of people, places, even my co-workers are often just on the tip of my tongue, but I just can’t quite seem to bring the information forward. When the govt got involved with reducing/threatening doctors who prescribed opioids . ..those patients who should've NEVER been on such medicines can't get them prescribed anymore after Years of getting them turned to the streets. Mix that with China adding fentynal to heroine and blamo .........opioid crisis.

It’s hard to feel bad for people that choose to harm themselves I feel bad that he isn’t healthy but come on we have the power to change and make good choices. That being said hope he gets healthy

Daniel Lopez yeah. Addiction exist because people dont have enough willpower to resist the easy way for them to forget their problem. Unless you're forced to be addicted to drugs, i dont have any sympathy for them.

Alexis Kyle i hope you beat that cancers ass, and same here I’ve been on the verge of being addicted to cocaine/alcohol and lost friends and prioritized it but I decided to change and be healthier because I realized how stupid it was, and how I was cheating myself. Now that’s a hardcore drug to me, but heroine to me is just inexcusable the one drug I would never touch because you will get addicted and it’s nobody’s fault but your own and it’s nobody’s responsibility to beat it but your own

@adiantomahendra it's a choice in the beginning but if you're young and don't know right from wrong and you getting addicted to an opiate like fetnayl ita not that easy to just say no to it unless you have tried it and been through it I wouldn't say anything about it , it's the strongest drug in the world the withdrawal will make a person suicidal and kill themselves it's more than just a yes or no when it comes to quiting or most ppl would just say no it changes a person and takes over there life and they are not themselves anymore

This 'tragic addict' narrative is getting out of hand. However strong the addiction, and no matter what drove one toward it, one makes the choice to ruin the lives of himself, his friends, and his family. Nobody defends the alcoholic dad that beats his kids and wife or the workaholic dad who ignores them. Why defend other kinds of addicts? We can and do have the right to judge these people because they ruin society and the lives of everyone around them, including parents, kids, and friends. We are told we should empathize, but of course we already do. We empathize perfectly because we've all been there! So we pass judgement because who hasnt screwed up or been addicted to something or felt useless. We work hard daily to be better. Damn son, when your family has nothing to eat and your wife is diagnosed with cancer, saying 'sorry hun, i forgot to work today cause of fentanyl amnesia, guess we cant pay for your chemo' is just not acceptable. We are not without empathy for them-they are without empathy for us.
