A family shares their story of the loss of their 21-year-old daughter to fentanyl poisoning.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

@@IRosameliayou're wrong but I can see where you're confused , our family lost my Nephew to Fentanyl and he knew what he was putting into his arm it was his drug of choice. There are pill users like Xanax, coding, and purcocet not sure I spelled the last one right... You need to know this in case you have a friend or someone you know, Lots of people think they know how to use and handle Fentanyl so they make it their choice of drug use. In NY last month these parents took their little one year old son to daycare and they got the phone call that their son was being rushed to the hospital, 4 more little babies were also rushed to the hospital also, the little boy died and the 4 other children were fighting for their lives ( they are better now) it was Fentanyl poisoning. The daycare worker and her boyfriend were selling it and she let the boyfriend bring it into the daycare and she helped him bag it up and the children had it in their skin because of the worker or inhaled it IDK . You can look it up, also there are fentanyl labs just like meth labs, I just learned about the labs yesterday.

I can assure you that drugs were a big issue in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, etc. There's nothing new, except that fentanyl is more deadly, but users have been dying of drug overdoses and abuse since I can remember. We just didn't have KZbin videos and 24/7 news coverage. Btw, despite the fact I'm a Boomer, I've never even smoked a cigarette or a joint. Pot, drugs, none of that stuff interested me in the least.

I've raised a child through this scourge. It killed his best friend. My son's survival through this chemical minefield is a miracle, But it's not just the street dealers that need attention. If one goes to prison, another immediately takes over selling to his clients. The biggest problem is the regional producers and importers. They have _tons_ of product at their disposal. I've heard that it's so easy & cheap to make...the enticing idea of escape thru one pill is great.🙏🏼😪

How ironic the ad leading into this video is the one where the young black woman says-- "Do you love getting high, but the smoke hurts your lungs??? Don't worry -- I've got you covered!" Then in a cheery voice she starts talking about the GREAT tasting gummies she's found. Unbelievable.

I've been seeing this commercial lately and i feel the same, where are we going as a society of supposedly responsible people? It makes me SICK that so many things are acceptable that wasn't years ago and viola, this is the result. Unfortunately, it's gonna get worse.

My deepest condolences to your & Marissa Stepfather. Unfortunately I to lost my son on December 29th,2022 one day before Marissa’s passing. And he to died as a result of fentanyl toxicity! I’m devastated most days it’s difficult to even get up!! It’s only by Gods grace & mercy that I’m able to go on. I really want to do something in the city where I live but I don’t even know how or where to stay. If anyone that reads this can share some insight on how or where I can start in my city I would appreciate it! Again my most heartfelt condolences 💐

She is so beautiful 🖤 Also I don’t know I would’ve ever been able to forgive my mom for that, but it seems Marissa was a bit kinder than me I’m sure she would forgive you, you couldn’t have known. Also, wow.. she suffered through so many losses. :( There it goes now I’m crying too 😢I want to hug her mama so bad rn. THE DOG TOO😢😢😢 he had to witness two deaths. It’s hard to bring charges against a dealer like this because they have to prove the “friend” knew there was fent in the Percocet. I hope you get some justice for Marissa. She didn’t deserve to die of this 💔

We had to fight for narcan w our ems fire department and police. I didn't realize that it's not everywhere by now just like i didn't realize that it's not often prosecuted other places. We prosecute. I don't always agree. But if you give someone something and lie about what it is, that's murder. But it won't bring one child back. 😢 To her Mom, we do our best. You did what you knew to do. Yes she took it, but a perc. She wasn't expecting something deadly.

I am so sorry that your beautiful daughter had to be one of the numbers in this horrible drug pandemic we are in the middle of...i am so sorry. I have three children, one daughter and i could see the pain on your face throughout this video even when you were chuckling about past memories and it hurt me. I try to comment on all the videos i watch on this channel because i think it's very important for the families on here to know that because of your story and sadly the many others on this channel that i was able to talk to my children about the drugs out there. That it doesn't matter if the pill is stamped with a perfect imprint, if the pill is in a pharmacy bottle and it states it's percocet and the pill is imprinted and then it's googled and still says it's a percocet.....they have pill presses that they use and they look identical to the real pills....they could have just had a bottle that was from the pharmacy at one point and they maybe just reused that bottle....i tell my kids all of that and also just because it's from someone you know, your best friend, etc. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING....it's not like "oh wow i tried that and it was a bad experience" It's oh, i have died and left friends and family behind grieving wondering what life i would have had.....i commend you for being able to come on here and speak about your daughter especially because it was not even that long ago....i hope you know what a service you are doing by sharing this....i am so sorry again that your kid had to be one of the kids we lost...thank you, sending much love from Oregon

@Texas Pictures ~ THANK YOU IMMENSELY FOR EXTREMELY IMPORTANT WORK YOU ARE DOING IN BRINGING THIS DEADLY DRUG “FENTANYL” TO OUR ATTENTION, PARTICULARLY BECAUSE THE DEALERS SELL IT AS ANOTHER OPIATE, WHEN IN FACT, IT IS THE MOST “DEADLY” DRUG THAT WILL GUARANTEE IMMEDIATE “DEATH” TO ANY AGE GROUP. YOU ARE TO BE TRULY COMMENDED FOR YOUR EXCELLENT ENDEAVOURS AT EDUCATING THE PUBLIC. WHAT REALLY CONCERNS ME IS THE LACK OF PROSECUTIONS FOR MURDER!!

My son has overdosed on Fentanyl and was brought back my Narcan. Rehab after rehab and he still uses. My son is 23 and has two little boys. He just lost his two best friends within two months of each other from Fentanyl overdose, but he still uses. I hope no one has to prepare their self to bury their child. My heart breaks.

Naloxone is the active ingredient in Narcan and is also available in many generics as a nasal spray. In fact, the brand name Kloxxado delivers a higher dose of naloxone than Narcan (Kloxxado-8mg per dose, Narcan-4mg per dose). Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available in the brand name Narcan or generic versions available for free. It is important to recognize that Naloxone is the drug, Narcan is just a brand name. Whenever someone uses the word "Narcan" in place of "naloxone", they're devaluing all the other equally effective brand options and promoting a specific pharmaceutical company.

My heart goes out to you both & everyone affected by drugs. I think when a person is in the middle of wanting to use, there is little you can do, deception & lying is part of that use. If your daughter didn’t take the drug at home it would if been in her car or with “the friend”. What your doing now is raw & brave. Your energy & words will help others so much. There is no such thing as “one more high”. That’s the addict justifying the moment. Until the next moment comes. Bless you both, your daughter would be proud. Xx
