Rachael Escober, so true. The study of these children says as much about us as it does them. I love how he brought it back around to the basic humanity in us all.

@@Steampunkkids it's not good to study these children just for self-interest. Not that it is bad to us, but when we want to know something from these children, they had to undergo unnecessary medical test and have to stay with strangers that assess them like a science experiment (rather than as mother or a doctor).

If you search Oligophrenia you’ll find it, it’s no longer used as it was replaced by other diagnosises. I believe it was also used to deem someone ‘feeble minded’ and to justify keeping the intellectually disabled in asylums. Definitely give it a google yourself though as I am no expert. :)
