I have a 1947 Continental Fergie. The oil filter is in the sump, accessed from a bottom plate. It’s still 6Volt and starts on the stick 😊

The ORIGINAL TE-20 (1946-48) had a "Continental" 4 cylinder engine. The TEA-20 (Late 1947-56) had a "Standard" (Vanguard car) 4 cylinder engine. From 1949 there was T.V.O. version (TED-20) and from 1951 a diesel version (TEF-20)😊

I have a tea20 and I found when I hooked a tongued rotary mower to the drawbar it would float up and down terribly, can’t use it! I found out that it was meant for in the ground attachments like a plow?

I get very confused on trying to figure out the differences in the motors. I know there’s an oil filter that goes on an angle then there’s an oil filter that goes straight up and down but then I have one that goes up in through the oil pan. And it is a TE model. I live in the US in Pa. I thinking remember seeing Z120 on the block, also mine has Lucas electronics.

The oil filter up through the pan is a feature of the Continental Z120 engine used in TE20 and US built TO20 tractors. Any of the ones with an oil filter on the side whether vertical or angled are Standard engines and are TEA20s.

As beautiful as he is, Ferguson tractors are far from rare. Nice to hear the original 6v electrics are still in place just as they are on my 1949 TE-a 20.

Granted, I've not seen many with the filter adaptation. I believe the filter was placed at an angle to reduce the possibility of damage from snagging on low down obstructions.

The early British built TE-20 tractors had a "Continental" Z-120 engines. (1946-48) The later US built TO-20 tractors (1948-51) had the same engine. The later British built TEA-20 tractors (late 1948 to 1956) used British built "Standard" engines.😊

I'm from Brazil. I have a slightly rarer TEA 20. It's from the TEC series. Made in England. Standard engine. Narrower model for grape crops. Mine is from 1952.

Not very rare here in the colonies. After 80 years they are still everywhere here in Canada. I have 4 of them right now. Maybe 5.I'd have to go out and count. We had TEs and then TEAs.
