I am currently doing my first brew in the gen 3. I had the gen 2 and threw it out due to an undoable cross thread error with the old style mounting system. The gen 3 is such a huge design improvement I had to have one! The triclover clamp design is akin to the motor car and the spaceX. The tooling designer and manufacturers deserve a Nobel prize for figuring out the bottom flange. Time will tell, but today I have a 1058OG IPA bubbling away nicely at 9PSI with no problems at all. Looking forward to dumping the trub and introducing the hops from the de-oxengenated capture chamber. We live in amazing times!

I will admit, my experience with selling the previous Generation had pushed me towards testing the Anvil-branded Keg King Fermenter King G3 for my new Brewstore. But, watching this video makes me wonder if it's the right move. It looks like they've solved most of my complaints.

Hi just found you. I am an old brewer, who is coming back to brewing. I have the brewers edge mash and boil and the old fashion type fermenters, plastic with air trap. I really wanted to use this type of fermenter but the height, makes it impossible to get in my fermenting fridge.
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ian, great to have you back 🍻 I suggest looking at the Fermzilla all rounder. No bottom container and much shorter.

If you're spunding lager yeast at room temp, are you using a standard ale pitch rate or a lager rate? Or like with dry are you using 1 pack or 2? Thanks

I am not a fan of the floating dip tubes as I find they tend to get above the liquid too often. One thing that could maybe help would be a line connected to a magnet in the outside. Move the magnet to the level you want it and it can always be below liquid.
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian, You dont have to use them but cutting the hosing down more should fix this.
@patchdurant25622 жыл бұрын
I have zip tied a stir bar to mine which weighs it down a bit and allows me to move it with a magnet if the iSpindel traps it when doing pressure transfer.
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
Wont just giving it a shake fix that ? It has for me in the past.
@zzing2 жыл бұрын
@@DavidHeathHomebrew shaking it would also shake up the trub or at least the top layer of it.

Morning David, I have a GF SS Conical Fermenter. I will prob buy the Fermzilla Gen 3 fermenter as another fermenter. I was just wondering what would u use to clean and heat the FG3, considering the GF has a heating element and is made of SS. Thanks again for your great and informative videos! Cheers, Ian
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Ian. KL have a heating wrap that is ideal for fermzilla. Otherwise heat on top of a jacket. Cleaning wise use the same chemical cleaner but for 18 mins contact tine at 40C

At a price point of $165 AUD, I'd certainly consider upgrading to the gen 3. Been using the gen 1 for a few years now, but it always had a 'prototype' feel to it if I'm honest. For example, unless you have hands the size of a Geisha, you won't be scrubbing the inside any time soon.
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
The GEN 3 is certainly the best one yet. It just works.

As a frustrated gen 2 users, I question whether the collection jar pressure issues will be fixed as its still a threaded design. How is this any different from the gen 2 design? Curiously, I have yet to see any real world use reviews for the gen 3 yet?
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
I never had issues with the jar on any. Just be sure to have the valve open at the start 🍻🍻

Stainless steel firmzilla? That sounds very interesting and I would love to see that come to production. I currently have the all rounder from Zilla in the biggest downfall is the expiration date for using it as a pressure fermenter.
