7:01 Himmel scolded her because he considers it disrespectful to blow away the bodies of those innocent people with powerful magic spells. Hence why this time Frieren only dispels the control magic that's been cast on them, rather than destroying their armour which is the last remnant of the people they once were.

In case it wasn’t clear the armor had bodies. Aura cut off their heads because the loyalty spell can be broken by strong will. No brain, no will.

8:30 The necklace/pendant that Frieren recognized on the armor was Graf Granat's family's insignia, yes. But ultimately, it was the Graf's son's pendant.

The animation is amazing but I'm equally impressed with the way they pair the music to swell at perfect moments, topped off with some excellent voice work and that fight is so gorgeously moving.

Its interesting to see how elf mages and human mages’ mindsets differ. Human mages are in such a rush to learn as much as possible because of their short lifespans, that is why they powerful at such a rapid pace, while elf mages take their sweet time in learning magic. Training minimally for a hundred years is absolutely fine to them. Now what would be really scary is an elf who has the same rush to learn as humans do, despite having thousands of years to live.

An elf mage raised from birth by a city of human mages would be a terrifying thing. Generations of human mages pouring all of their knowledge into one little elf child.

I think Zoltrak was made into an ordinary offensive spell for everyone else. I have a feeling Frieren taught Fern a personalized Demon killing version. Maybe.

My thoughts exactly, otherwise he wouldn't have been surprised by the spell modification. As that would be the spell that humans would've been using against them for the past several decades.

For future viewers: the army are the magically enslaved corpses of warriors that tried and failed to defeat Aura. To prevent them from breaking the spell with willpower, she had them cut their own heads off. This is an important detail to remember later 😉

Himmel scolded Frieren pretty much because what she did is pretty much disrespecting a dead body. Even after being under Aura's command, the body is still a knight's body, a person that is already dead. It's like soldier of today falls in battle and for whatever reason you decided to mutilated the body. It's disrespectful.
