It's just great to see Andy Murray back and competing his hardest at the very top level. Well played Verdasco though. We all know how capable he is of powering anyone off the court. He'll need to be ultra aggressive against Delpo in the next round though. Should be a cracking match

Murrays biggest problem is that he is too defensive. He is so physically fit, why won’t he just crank the ball or be more aggressive like in 2012 when he won the us open?
@danmeadowsmusic
@danmeadowsmusic 6 жыл бұрын
I think he won the US Open final against Djokovic a) because Djoker wasn't at his best, he mostly dominates Murray otherwise b) the windier conditions favour Murray as his slice is 5x than Novak's. Murray's power was never really his forte - he's an excellent scrambler and very consistent off both wings but can't really hammer winners the same way the big 3 or even Stan can when he's playing well.
@JustMyOpinion05
@JustMyOpinion05 6 жыл бұрын
DanimalLawlz Murray did beat him at Wimbledon 2013 as well as Olympics 2012. Murray was excellent for a few years under Lendl then went back to defensive reactive tennis. I always thought Murray vs Djokovic should have been closer as a match up because they are so similar. The one thing that’s always let Murray down is his lack of aggression in them matches he lost to Nole.
@danmeadowsmusic
@danmeadowsmusic 6 жыл бұрын
School Of Thought It should've been closer but I think Djoker is just a little bit better in almost every regard other than volley, slice and scrambling. Djoker's forehand is a bit more powerful, his backhand is certainly more powerful, his mental game more stable. Murray also never improved his second serve which is a major liability, which Djoker did and has won all the additional slams as a result.

two things: first, Murray, you need to really fitness up your hips, and get the power back... i believe you can do it. and Verdasco, man, you remind me of your AOpen SF against Nadal when you defeated your self-non-belief and pointed to your brain. Suggestion from a long time admirer of your game: if you point to your heart, that's where the mind and power will help you to get to the SF again at the USO, and who knows, maybe all the way! The brain is part of the battle, but if you can put 100% heart into it, the game is yours.

tabularasa7711 i have to disagree! He plays with so much heart! And he points at his brain because he knows it; just like everyone who have not only watched the game their entire life but played it, that his biggest issue is his IQ! He is got one of the best weapons on tour but because of his mental game, effectiveness and execution of good tennis almost always doesn't show up in the big matches!

Murray still needs a lot of time. He plays generic passive tennis right now, with a trashy forehand that threats nobody. It's a shame cos his backhand is freakin world-class(better than Rafa's, almost as good as Novak's), even after injury. I hope he turns this round in the future. Tennis needs good Andy back. I'm really happy for Verdasco, he deserved it totally. That form reminds me a bit of 2009 A0. He's got the game to be a dark-horse. Great tennis from him and i hope for an awesome big-hitting match against my man Delpo.

Murray is the Wozniacki of the ATP...so annoying to watch he complains about every f'n thing!!! Was salty at the net too...he acts like the voice of the ATP.

May be the feminist Andy Murray lost his balls and has become a woman player.

Overrated murray is hyped only by the paid brit media. No one else takes him seriously anymore. Time to tweet about feminism to stay in spotlight. Judy and Andy will be in mainstream brit media spotlight like david Beckham - muxh after their expiry dates. Like beckham, murray is low on talent but big in shenanigans. Time to retire with some fake injury excuses
