Check bottom of excluder for the Queen is a good ideal.

Put new supers…deep or medium…above your brood box when you add them….One brood box is more than enough…

I watched your videos last year and saw a few this year, but I didn't see why you lost your hives over the winter. Do you know why they died? I love your craftsmanship on the boxes. They are quite amazing to look at.

Thanks for the nice words. As far as why the hives died the more I think about it and talk to other people I'm thinking it was mites

Cool video man. You mentioned no queen cells but u saw tons of queen cups and it didn't appear you checked them. Or do you not worry about them until they're capped?

right if they are not caped i glance at them im sure i looked dont rember now lol once i see caped ones then i go back and check in a week or so thanks

That Queen on the first hive would have never survived the day for me….She is doing terrible…that brood pattern is the worst….and metal excluders would help your process…

@@FernvalleyFarm ….they are so much easier to work with….they stay in place …they don’t deform ….the plastic are trash…
