Ferragamo Loafers converted from a Molded Rubber Soles to Blake Stitched JR Leather Full Soles

In this video we will be taking these awesome Men's Salvatore Ferragamo Loafers that originally had a molded rubber sole and converted it to a Blake Stitched Sole with a JR Leather sole, stacked leather heel block, JR Dovetail heels and to top it of give them a full Saphir Medaille d'Or treatment.

There’s plenty of all leather slip on shoes around without holes in the heel area , personally I wouldn’t of done it but you’re the expert I just buy and wear expensive shoes.

So you can resole rubber soled shoes with leather soles. I had read somewhere that it couldn't be done. If you're going to own a high end shoe like Ferragamos, any sole other than leather really makes no sense anyway.

Interesting, so it is possible to convert good overall shoes with a DMS into a stitched shoes? Can this be done for other sorts of shoes, or just specific kinds such as the Loafers here? Would they need to be converted early on, or after they've been well worn?

You are obviously a very accomplished and knowledgeable cobbler and I respect your work. However, your videos are much too instructional for me. My feedback to you would be to try and limit your videos to 40 minutes or less. Obviously, this is only my opinion and many of your viewers and subscribers will probably disagree with me.

Awesome, I have a pair of Ferrragamo's. They rarely get worn, but when the rubber wears out I now know they can be redone with JR leather!

Excellent video and top notch work! The original rubber soles were in a nearly new condition though. Don't understand why the owner wanted to have them replaced with the leather soles when they hadn't been wore much at all. The leather soles are more fancy but the rubber soles are more durable and give more support/cusion on the footbeds. I wouldn't do it until they have been wore off. Probably just buy a new pair with the leather soles.

I have a suede Ferragamo loafers with rubber soles which I’ve owned for 18 years. Got sentimental value to me and wanting to replace the soles to leather like how you repaired shoes in this video. I live in Vegas . Thank you.

Good job on that!! You don’t say the cost for the shoe work that you do. That would be cool to add in case people are looking for work done on their shoes. My wife had some handmade boots from Colombia South America, with rubber soles, but the rubber went a bit higher around the base of the shoe. Was asking the cobbler I went to if he could do a Blake stitch with the boot, but he said he couldn’t. But you did!!
