Yay First! Thanks for the shoutout. It's always a pleasure to help. On that subject your grille is from a Euro QV which is narrower to accommodate the fog lights and taller by one horizontal slat. Euro QV's had different front bumpers which were slimmer allowing your the taller grille to fit. It will not work with the bumper you have without cutting it down.

15:22 just an FYI most home hardwares have a really good selection of specialty fasteners including metric. Blind nuts, nylon lock nuts, barb nuts nut serts literally just about everything a man could want. Brass, stainless and carbon steel too.

SUGGESTION - I have the fiberglass bumper in front and actually "bumped" something with it. The bumper cracked. I had it repaired but had them fiberglass a piece of channel steel on the back to stiffen it so it wouldn't break with another "bump". I know it adds a little weight but it cracks so easily that it was worth it. Great show...keep it up.

I have a fun suggestion for you. When you're finished with your project and go to your very first Ferrari gathering why don't you tape up your rear bumper like you did when you were fitting it. I bet it would make the "tiffosi" heads explode. Have fun!

whew, I'm glad to hear you're fibreglassing those brackets in after epoxying them....for a second there I thought you might have been just using the epoxy......and was thinking "please no...." Have you ever used panel bond? I saw Tavarish rebuilt a McLaren 720S and just about the whole tub is glued together with it. I'd like to grab a tube and try it out sometime, it appears to be one HELL of a good bond.....
@LouTrottier2 жыл бұрын
Nope never used it. Maybe someday when a mclaren comes my way.
@parrotraiser65412 жыл бұрын
Might it be an idea to put an aluminum extrusion inside the fibreglass, just to absorb light interactions with planters and other minor environental features? It wouldn't cost or weigh much.

I get all my bolts for my motorbikes from a chandlers. If they won't rust on a boat, they won't rust on my bikes. A quarter of the manufactures price and probably twice as good.

@@Anti-Static_Matt gotcha!
@muskokamike1272 жыл бұрын
@@Anti-Static_Matt Just so you know? The reason they don't rust on a boat is they're stainless steel. When I had a 30 footer I used to buy from marine stores.....wait, why am I paying $1.00 for a 1/2" wood screw? Went to home hardware and bought it for 50 cents....then opened an account at fastenal and bought 100 for $5.00 lol. It's funny though, it depends on what you want. Even fastenal is outrageous on some of their fasteners. One place to avoid at all costs is Canadian Tire. I needed some stainless 3/8" lock nuts and they sold them for 3 for $2.99. I use about 500 a year and was short 2. I normally buy them in a box of 100 for 25 cents each.
@Anti-Static_Matt2 жыл бұрын
@@muskokamike127 Thanks Mike, I appreciate the info. I only really use them when I’m caught short. I try to buy original manufacturers hardware when I can, as most of the nuts and bolts on bikes are visible. Have a good one 👍🏻

Project 308! You call the front bumper situation MM and you are not satisfied with it. I dont understand, it is mounted in the factory way, no? What exactly is your concern there?
@LouTrottier2 жыл бұрын
The front bumper has suffered from previous repairs and had been altered in a very poor way.
