Great to meet you Mark. The 308 is looking great, its going to be a very well sorted car when finished with many more miles to enjoy over the next 20 years. Pleased the front bumper worked well and saved some weight at the same time. I believe Eurospares have a used one of those side fans you are missing in stock, they are the same as on a BBi

@@workinprogress1098 Cool video... makes we want to go and work on my 308. Superformance always used to have replacements for those front blowers as well.

Nice work! I noticed a small dent in the front hood, about 10 inches to the right of your newly installed pop up headlight pod, close to the leading edge. You can see it at 10:40

There are a few of those around the car. It's been well used, so would benefit from a full strip and respray one day.

Great to see a classic car used well! Your gravel driveway reminds me of working on my car. It seemed to camouflage anything dropped on it! I lost a few bolts and screws on mine!

They certainly are used. I've had a lot of very enjoyable miles over the years. And yes, that driveway is a nightmare to work on. 😅

The labor of love that we can put into something that we didn't even realize how much we really needed this car or this project. Cheers mate you're going to do an awesome job. It'll be like driving a new car. I kind of renovated an older car and it looks amazing. I am driving a 1999 Toyota solara Two door it's is. Awesome 🎉🎉

Indeed. The more I do, the more "I'll just do this while I'm at it". 😅

I am so envious how you have racked up the miles and enjoyed it. My 308 has only 17,000 miles on it and I can't bring myself to put more than a few hundred miles on it every year. Also like the wheels.
@workinprogress10989 ай бұрын
Oh wow, your car must be like new. The 308 has been a great companion for touring, but I understand why you are hesitant to put miles on it at this stage.

Nice work work. Have to complement you on the ride height and wheel choice, a hint of 288. Seeing other people showing their projects helps others get off their backsides and fix their cars. I stupidly reversed into a steep drive a few days ago and took a few millimeters of fibreglass from my daily driver clam.
@workinprogress10989 ай бұрын
Thank you, although I can't take credit. The wheels and coilovers were on the car when I bought it. I have raised the suspension since buying and will do again to avoid damaging that new spoiler. Good luck fixing that clam.

What a beautiful 308!! Can you do a night driving or sitting video with the dash lights and interior lights, such as the dome light on too? I would love those vibes!
@workinprogress10988 ай бұрын
Thank you. Once she's back on the road, I hope to get some miles in, and a night run is very likely. I'll try to remember to capture. 👍🏼

@@workinprogress1098 Sounds great thanks so much for that and for getting back to me! Good luck and I can't wait!! :)

To make the bumper profile and plan view match the bodywork you need to first take a squeeze cast and use that as a drag template. So if its 'relatively' flat in the middle you'd be adding polyester filler as dictated by the drag template to ensure the bumper has a matching plan and profile relative to the body.
@workinprogress10989 ай бұрын
Hopefully, the new bumper will mean I don't have to do that. But thanks for the tip 👍🏼

If it's used and has sustained damage around the lamp mounts, chances are the gel coat will be stress cracked and it will need reworking anyway as it will show in the paint.

Nice video, just subed, will be watching with interest as I've a GTB. If you are considering parting with your old spoiler let me know 👍
@workinprogress10989 ай бұрын
Thank you. Not sure what to do with the old spoiler as yet. Will probably have a go at patching up and keeping as a spare in case I go on another tour.
