Ferrari 360 Spider - A 6-speed low maintenance dream

When it debuted at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2000, the 360 Spider was a quantum leap forward in top-down performance and technology thanks to its lightweight all-alloy chassis, its flowing body lines and its very user-friendly power top. Performance was breathtaking thanks to the 360’s five-valve 3,586cc V8 producing 400 hp at 8,500 rpm. A new traction-control system was standard and top speed was an impressive 186 mph, with a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds. The 360 was also the most aerodynamically sophisticated street Ferrari yet built, with the coupe version making nearly 400 pounds of down force at 180 mph, without the use of an external wing. By the time production ended in late 2004, the 360 had become the best-selling Ferrari ever. Breaking with previous Ferrari V8 tradition, the 360 can be serviced with the engine in, which translates into substantially reduced maintenance costs.

When I was as teenager, the 360 debuted but it didn't "wow" me like the 355. Compared to the cars of today, I'm finally falling in love with the 360 because I'm beginning to realize how special these cars really are.

The 360 has more horsepower than the 355, and more reliable and cheaper maintenance than the 355.

Great video Colleen! My friend just installed a new clutch in my 2001 F1. Tomorrow we test drive. Next week we are installing a new top. It's all in the elastics in the top. Love the 360. Keep those classic Ferrari video coming, they are great!

This is one of my grail cars. Fell in love with it when someone here locally bought the black 360 Modena that Lenny Kravitz once owned. The car is a rolling work of art. Hope to own a 360 one day.

This is always a head turner when I get to see one. I still remember when I saw that unicorn Enzo Ferrari a few years back. Those few seconds were some of the best ever haha.

I'm not a 360 fan, obviously preferring the F355 but I also find the F430 to be a prettier car. I have to say though that this colour combination is absolutely fantastic! The best looking 360 I've seen for sure.

Great cars, especially with the six speed manual. I drove an F1 360 and wasn't impressed.

The 360 made the Ferrari more approachable, used ones going for the price of a new Vette. Unfortunately with the lower pricing got people into the market that had a tendancy of letting maintenace slip. The F1 trans is kind of scary for the new crowd. The 430 is little more expensive and better in every way. Agree, both models had annual maintenace drop to less eye searing numbers.

I like the performance of the 360, but for me being wowed by our neigbors 365 Boxer when I was a kid, the 360 somehow look a bit bland to me, but they are a great car, alloy chassis, easier servicing and so forth, they are pretty quick cars, but they do have their issues with the sitcky plastic, and a few other things, just like any Ferrari does..... Excellent presentation, and yes, Ferrari owed their customers a top that actually worked after the 355 Spider fiasco...lol...
