Hi Sam, Thanks for the updates and for sharing this video. It is very interesting and informative. Your Subaru sounds amazing!!!..and it shifts!!👌....it sounds similar to a rally car that used to run here in the UK. The car was a Peugeot cosworth , and a driver called Andy Burton used to rally it here in many rallies. The car sounded bloody amazing, and you certainly could hear it echoing through the forests before you saw it!!..awesome bit of kit, and it was rapid!!!...there is footage here on KZbin, you must take a look if you can, you'll like it. Doing the same (rust inspection and mitigation) soon as pre prep for my first rally in 2024/2025. Also taking everything rusty apart so I know what might break before finding out in service. Love the build and the ambitions. I am personally just looking to stay out of the trees. Great videos and the sound of your car is amazing! Looking forward to more videos.

Thank you! I’m a project manager at Leatherman Tool Group (the multi tool company) doing new product development. Definitely open to being a professional driver but by no means counting on it. Just not realistic in the US.

I have to ask did your competitors in that Canada rally use studded tires? If so that's insane you won and a bit mad how you took it out on the snow with no studs. I've never seen the drivetrain layout of this car, I'm curious to see how the front diff fits round the engine. I am also curious how the cooling solution works, what solutions you came up with and any changes planned?

Most did used studded tires which were superior until the snow started coming down.

Using the Subaru drivetrain so that’s all mostly in the stock location. I’ll have to do a video on the cooling system.

a very cool project, my respect. I wonder what kind of software exists for modeling suspension kinematics?

The three main ones I know of are OptimumKinematics, Susprog3D, and ChassisSim. You can also do it a bit more manually within Solidworks or use Excel, Matlab, etc to get the basics.
