Ferry schedules and ferry companies can be searched online, through newspaper ads, travel agents, and ferry terminals. Ferries are one of the main transportation modes in the Philippines with over 7000 islands.
our bunk area was very nice. About 6 hours. The fast ferries had
additional stops, cost over 1000 Pesos and took about the same time
with the added stop.

@Gin Deniega, I suggest, if you have the chance, you can try overcoming your fears by starting with short trips like the Cebu-Dumaguete one and on bigger vessels like what this video is showing. Your other "assurance" kung matatawag man na ganu'n, is that the vessels will be sailing near the shorelines of the islands na madada-anan so kung sakaling may emergency man, which actually very rarely happens sa larger vessels, malapit lang ang shorelines. I hope that helps.

Is there a ferry that goes from Cebu to Bohol? If so what port does it go to on Bohol? Thanks Rod
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 4 жыл бұрын
Under normal circumstances, ferries travel Cebu City to Tagbilaran, Bohol many times each day from Pier 1. There is also a ferry that goes from Cebu City to Getafe, Bohol in the north and is a smaller outrigger type banca boat. I think there is also a ferry that runs to Tubigon but not sure of the pier it leaves from, perhaps from south of Cebu City. My cost for the Ocean Jet fast ferry Cebu to Tagbilaran was always 500 pesos, about $10 USD David. All passenger ferries are shut down during this quarantine but some freight is still moving. Safe travels.

@AmazingPhilippines1

I do not know the scooter charge on the ferry Barry. Each line has its own pricing. I am guessing about the same as your ticket but not sure. Renting a scooter would run 300-500 pesos/day with discounts for longer rentals in most places.

You mention that ferry schedules and companies can be searched online. I have never had much luck with that and it's probably just me. If a person could find where to search online is it simply a matter of designating the departure and destination locations and then all the information comes up for the various ferry companies that service that route, the schedules that the various companies operate and the cost? That's what I would be interested in learning more about. Thanks in advance.
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave. There were a couple of sites like that before this present crisis but you have to contact each ferry company now as schedules, requirements and restrictions to travel can change weekly. One such site was Silent-Gardens but I don't think any site is trying to update the info at this time.
@dgibbsfl
@dgibbsfl 3 жыл бұрын
@@AmazingPhilippines1 I could never find a site that was up to date before this current crisis. I could never even find phone numbers to call not that I would prefer to call around. I have a really hard time with communications over a phone, its' a challenge most of the time in person. I am also aware that things can change without any notice. I have traveled to a port to find out that route I was interested in is not currently running. I cannot imagine going through a process of trying to contact each ferry company to find out if they service a route to where I want to go. In this island nation it would seem that there would be a well refined system for looking (and even paying) at ferry schedules online and see what advisories are currently in place. Maybe one day.

Cokalion has direct large ferries from Cebu City to Dumaguete. I took the 5+ hour Sunday noon trip. Some ferries stop in Tagbilaran first.
