I will always remember this ferry as the Island Sky, a much better name than Malsapina Sky whatever that means. The name Island Sky is much more fitting for its route. Why did BC Ferries have to change its name in the first place? It was fine as it was. BRING BACK THE ISLAND SKY!!!!!!

According to an online source, BC Ferries made this change to avoid confusion with the Island-class ferries, which began entering service in 2020, as their names all start with "Island."

The reason is to keep the native people happy that they can have another indigenous name on a BC Ferry! I agree it should've been left "Island Sky"
