While I'm happy to have this remote on the hose of my dust extractor, I fully recognize that it's an unnecessary luxury. What's the laziest tool or accessory that you have in your workshop?

A shop Assistant.

@@AshHalls it’s been a huge time saver! I’m very glad I bought it soon after getting the vac.

That is very handy. For about 6 months I kept running over to my dust collector in the corner, then I discovered the remotes for outlets. So now I have the dust collector plugged into a remote plug that connects to the wall outlet. The wireless switch is now attached to my main hose hanging from the ceiling so its close whenever I need to turn it on. Simple yet works very well. Great video, I may have to do one later on about the setup I am using.

I really like your setup for dust collection with the remote! The last two times I’ve turned on my larger dust collectors I had the (really dirty) top filter inflate and hit me in the head. While I need one of those 1 micron filter bags you recommended, I may need a wireless remote to help safe my head! Haha

There it is 👏 It wasn't difficult to install the Bluetooth module but it is still nice that you didn't have to deal with that step.
@MasonWoodshop3 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Really a 1 minute setup for just the remote. Almost jealous of those that get to install a module onto the extractor.

No lie- that is actually a really cool little gadget. I am generally in favor of anything that encourages the use of safety equipment. The laziest tool/accessory I have is the doubles of tools I have so that I do not need to change set ups. 2 Radial Arm Saws, 2 Band Saws, 2 Scroll Saws.

Great point on encouraging use of safety equipment! I've had plenty of times where I've thought "well, it won't be that much dust" and just forwent collection. I haven't doubled-up on any tools of significance yet, but I definitely see a second trim router in the near future - keep a straight bit in one and a chamfer/round-over in the other.

Can we start a new weekly segment called “spend Mason Woodshop’s money” Create a poll once a week with a dollar limit and we vote on what to buy!

Bahaha! Just need to get my wife to post a tool budget each week for all of you. Got some nice small goodies today that'll make for some nice short content throughout the week, then it's time to build...with lumber that's exorbitantly expensive right now!
@Lincolnstww3 жыл бұрын
@@MasonWoodshop I’m really trying to stay away from builds unless the content is unique. Going to try something in the next video. Not looking forward to filming. When I’m building I don’t like the idea of having to set up shots. We will see how it goes
@MasonWoodshop3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the filming projects is my concern too. Single camera (phone) doesn't make it easy to collect footage. I'm planning to start small so that I can get used to the capture + editing for project videos. I've been watching some Fix This, Build That videos and I generally like his technique.

Interesting. But does the Bluetooth button control the speed or degree of suction of the dust extractor or just turn it on and off?
@MasonWoodshop Жыл бұрын
It is just a simple on/off switch.

How long does your battery last in the CT-F I ? Mine seems to drain pretty fast. Thanks
@MasonWoodshop Жыл бұрын
Wow, great question!! I’ve never had to replace mine in the couple of years I’ve owned it. I’d say that mine experiences low-to-moderate hobbyist usage but does get exposed to major temperature swings which should negatively impact the battery life.

You need this remote to bypass using the 110 socket that is only 700 watt

Wait if you have your tool plugged in to the extractor, it comes on when you turn the tool on, so why have this?
@MasonWoodshop Жыл бұрын
Not all of the tools I use it with are corded, or Festool. This works really well with my DeWalt cordless sander, and for general bench/tool cleanup.
