There is something special about every boat and yours has its advantages for sure. The shallow draft, low fuel consumption, etc. But you're gonna definitely need to watch the weather when you hit the gulf, the atlantic, the Pamlico, Chesapeake and Great Lakes. But im here rooting for ya!

I'm gonna' try to meet him in the Chesapeake. I've got a LOT of boat work to do to make that happen and I'm fighting a couple of disabilities. But I sure want to meet up with him when he hits the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay then travels up to the C&D canal. (My great-great grandfather was one of the German emigres that dug the canal, his son became one of the pioneer (hard hat and canvas suit) divers and he was employed by the U.S. Government to work on the locks. I'm hoping Brenton will let me 'guide' him on that leg of his trip. I've accumulated a LOT of information about the Delaware and Chesapeake bays.

Burlington and other towns like it must have thrived in the steamboat era and in the 20th century when towns like that might have had manufacturing plants, or many of them. That bridge that you were so worried to go under is the most famous railroad crossing of the Mississippi. It is a "swing" bridge. It pivots on its center so that barges can pass. It carries the BNSF Transcon line (Chicago to LA). And if you look closely you will notice that it has trains on the bottom and cars on the upper level.

two lines with carabiners on the end work great for the locks. they can hold you to the wall at bow and stern but slide with the elevation change. And with a fender clipped to them they will stay right at the waterline between wall and vessel.

Hi Daniel, I did an interview with a real lock master over on my back up channel. It's linked in the descriptions of my videos. The way the locks work is very interesting. Gravity. Engineering that is nothing short of genius. I would also consider living in the desert hell. Come to the midwest, we have plenty of room for now. Filling up with invaders fast

I think those concrete plants are grain silos, or at least the one by the train. Keokuk is pronounced keo-cut. At least when I lived in IA thats the way we said it lol. That abandoned house looks like a STS camp 🤣 I keep forgetting your videos are about a month behind the real weather date. It was warm then in Nov. Here in MO it is pretty warm to for December, still in the 50's . I don't get bored watching the river scenes i grew up on water activities and camped on a boat for weeks at a time on a lake and river. The sounds of waves and water splashing against boat is so relaxing. Merry CHRISTmas and can't wait to see next adventure. 👍♥️✌🇺🇸🙏🚤🛵

I thought the same thing about the house, Scotty would set his tent up under the deck. Next video, you'll see a lot more of it. Stay tuned! ;)

Looks like a drone shot !!!! Glad you got it. Sneak peaks are a great idea just like the shows we grew up on. Liked the reggae music to it also. It it’s smart to carry nowadays I never have until lately . Things are just different. Can’t wait till you are in the Erie Canal or St Lawrence.

Some people hate themsevs and anyone who intrudes in there little world. Wish I new when you were going threw Fort Madison. They have cameras showing river and train traffic. The bridge is unique with rail and auto crossing.

I am a fan of yours and the star of the boat. I like the scriptures you put up and your comment about your life traveling. That was the Nauvoo Temple of ( The Church of Jesus Christ of Lattet Day Saints ) if you ever get back there again stop and visit I think you would find out some interesting history and find some answers to some questions you mentioned in some of the other videos. I hope to meet you some day!

I believe it's pronounced NAW-VOO Illinois. It was previously Commerce, IL until Joseph Smith of the LDS church renamed it.
