Great introduction song that should be on the radio. I love this episode because it shows the endless possibilities for shanty’s and gunk whole ing rich in seafood and resources that the Harlen could have lived off of. Oh the name for that mud is pluff mud if you’re lucky it will only digest your shoes and socks. It has a fragrance of its own if you ever have to walk in it take a 5 gallon bucket with you to push into the mud to help free your feet. My dog will jump into a lake face first but will not go out into the rain to relieve himself go figure.👍🐶

Welcome to the lowcountry, where I have lived near Savannah for near 28 years. A unique place, throw EVERYTHING you thought you knew about boating out the window, a big tidal swing, and your can easily get lost in the labrynth of tidal creeks and rivers if you don't have a chart and a sense of direction! But hey, "thus far" it isn't wall to wall condos like Florida!

I've noticed something about life as a human. If you do the same things day in and day out, time seems to fly by, and the days blend together, but if you do something out of the ordinary, you remember it for the rest of your life like it just happened. I bet you remember every day on the water in your shanty boat. There's always something new around the bend of the river. If I think about it, I can remember every hike I've been on or every time I've gone fishing or camping.

You are getting it figured out! One other thing about the tides is every full moon and new moon you will encounter neap tides for one or two days. The currents are not nearly as strong because you have shorter intervals between the highs and lows. Just something to study up on. I was watching the video and I thought you had misjudged it but then I realized you are traveling so slow your timing was perfect.

We have I believe the makings of a best-seller children's book about the Brenton-Wavey expedition narrated by (already we hear bits and pieces of this) and through the eyes of the indomitable Wavey.
