Feuerschwanz is pronounced foy-air-shvantz. Seeed is a Germany based, multi national dancehall/ reggae/ hip hop group, "Ding" was a big hit in the German speaking areas in 2006 (the part Meliisa took in the cover is English in the original too). Melissa is from the French speaking part of Switzerland, so she didn't knew about Feuerschwanz or Ding when they asked her if she would be interested in participating but after a quick research she happily accepted. Some people say she stole the show here but nobody can ever convince me that Feuerschwanz didn't exactly knew what they were doing. This collaboration ultimately led to the founding of The Dark Side Of The Moon after Melissa lost a bet against guitarist Hans der Aufrechte (Hans the Upright, real name Hans Platz). TDSOTM consists of Melissa on vocals, Hans on guitar, harpist Jenny Diehl (the red haired one of Feuerschwanz's two dancers/ stage & video performers, stage name Mieze Myu [Kitty Myow]) and Melissa's then boyfriend, now husband Morten Løwe Sørensen on drums (his main band is the melodic death metal/ symphonic metalcore group Amaranthe). The song teased at the end of Berzerkermode is titled "Bastard von Asgard", feat. Fabienne Erni (from the Swiss folk metal/ melodic death metal band Eluveitie). It's about Fenrir aka the Fenriswolf, a creature from the Norse mythology.

I saw Feuerschwanz live back in May and they have no right to be this hilarious. The lyrics of "Ding" make it even funnier, it's a song about a dude who is going out clubbing, leaving his wife at home, and flirting with other women but ultimately passing out drunk (if I understand them correctly, but they seem pretty uncomplicated). The original was apparently a huge hit in Germany a few years before I ended up moving here. Melissa Bonny is one of the most interesting metal vocalists to watch right now, I'm not a huge fan of the new Ad Infinitum material - it's very poppy - but check out Upside Down or Animals.

He basically is trying to work up the liquid courage to flirt with the girl, and gets way too drunk. One of the lyrics basically translates as "who'd have thought that vomit would save my marriage?".

And here we are again, four months later. I'm glad that you're keeping your promise, I'm sure most of the others would have forgotten it long ago. You still have the really strong Feuerschwanz songs ahead of you and most of them are not covers... I'm thinking of songs like Bastard of Asgard, Wardwarf, Untod im Drachenboot, Knochenkarussel, Highlander, Metfest or Das elfte Gebot... and so many more. The new album “Warriors” contains many classics re-recorded in English. By the way, Melissa Bonny and her band Ad Infinitum are another Rabbit hole that's hard to get out of. Songs like Somewhere better, Upside down, From the Ashes or Eternal rain I could listen to on an endless loop some days.

The original song "Ding" is from the band SEEED. Melissa sings the part of a male character, that's why she says "my wife" at some point which might be a little bit confusing.

Melissa Bonny are the vocalist in Ad Infinitum. She also has a band The dark side of the moon together with Hans and Jenny from Feuerschwanz and Morten from Amaranthe. Another great band are D’Artagnan, its Ben from Feuerschwanz (the blond vocalist)own band. Its folkmetal with musketeer/medevial themed costumes. Didn't know the name "Melissa Bonny" either. Quick google search later, turns out she's from the French speaking part of Switzerland, Montreux, where the Jazz festival is and the casino fire inspired "smoke on the water". Didn't know her eventhough i like this kind of music and am from the same small country.

Melissa Bonny is a Swiss singer from the french speaking part of Switzerland, but no worries, she is alos really fluent in English and even German. This OVER talented singer is not only extremely cute but a hard working person: She was featured in many bands as Warkings, Feuerschwanz, Mortemia,(and so on).. but most of all has her bands : Ad Infinitum and tthe dark side of the moon.. I saw one interview with ; she was always smiling and sweet and had some sense of humour. Really one great person, not only a great singer. I hope this give you an idea of who she is.

I can give you a few tiny facts about some of the other people in the Ding clip .. the blue haired girl is Svenja Metzner (Momo) She is married to lead singer Ben. She is an incredible photographer and helps make their costumes. (She has an etsy store with awesome items she hand makes) The dark red haired girl and short blonde girl are her 2 best friends. Jimmy and Santifun 🖤💙 There is a bald guy, he was their former drummer, Sir Lanzeflott, from 2005 -2021. When he left, Rollo, arrived and took over and is currently doing a superb job 🔥 If you like Melissa and Feuerschwanz together .. look up their cover of Manowar's 'Warriors of the World'. 13M views and counting !!! That also features Alea, lead singer of Saltatio Mortis (LOOK THEM UP) and Thomas Winkler (ex Gloryhammer member Angus McFife, Angus McSix) ❤🔥🔥🤘 Edit: Oh and it was filmed at a LARP venue in Wagenfeld, Germany. It's called Larpdorf Bogenwald & Leto's Taverne. They have filmed quite a few things there as well as other German bands too.

They are not comparing beliefs, but are making jokes about the viking hype where "everyone" trains to become a viking, including tatoos with viking runes and the like. They are goofy and great musicians at the same time.

I like to think this is merely a stylized version of how Ulfilas, St. Boniface, St. Ansgar, etc. managed to converted the Germanic tribes to Christianity.

I adore Feuerschwanz, they've done some incredible covers but their original stuff is extensive as well and all well worth the listen. I can't think of a single dud from them actually. Untot im Drachenboot is a favourite in this house (my kids don't speak a word of German but they put a lot of effort into singing it as word perfect as they can), and their cover of I See Fire is what caught me onto them in the first place. They're a lot of fun

Greetings from Germany this Band is absolutely hilarious on air or live. I know them since there second album and fall in love. The last LP "Warriors" is completely in english, maybe you could try these songs. An other awesome cover from Feuerschwanz is I see fire and Warriors of the World. If you want an other awesome band; try Grailknights. Superhero Powermetal in english from germany. Love this band, they're a lot of fun. Most of their songs are in German but a few of them are in English... 🤘🤘 Melissa Bonny is both beautiful and brilliant. Her band Ad Infinitum are awesome, she's also in another band called Dark Side of the Moon. I absolutely love her. Ad Infinitum release a new album next month and they have a new single out now called Surrender. It's brilliant (but a bit poppy). Also check out Unstoppable, and Afterlife (ft. Nils Molin, the clean singer from Amaranthe, and vocalist from Dynazty). For Dark Side of the Moon check out The Gates of Time. Nice reaction Dane... 🤘🤘

you should really check out the original song from the band Seeed (yes, this a cover of a german song, its also called Ding) and the video from Feuerschwanz will make more sense for you

Before you talk to these guys, you should learn how to pronounce Feuerschwanz. Here's a clue - it's not "fewer-shwanz". IIUC, Melissa Bonny, at the time of this collaboration, had recently left the band Rage of Light. I don't know if this was before or after she started her own band, Ad Infinitum. You should check out both bands. They're awesome. Rage of Light did some crazy covers, as well as having some of their own material. For example, they covered Aqua's Candyman and Lady Gaga's Judas.
