Would seem the take away would be that it was a performance, taught and practiced by that group. Armin was an observer. I never heard Armin promoting that performance. Armin was most likely there to teach what he teaches. He was simply showing what he observed. Negative comments, or better yet questions, would best be directed to the teacher and members of the group. Perhaps ask them directly about their safety concerns.

I believe that when Howard Hill was shooting in a Robin Hood movie, the stuntmen were paid $150 each time they were shot at by Howard Hill! They had wooden blocks underneath their costumes and that is wher HHill shot them.

Yeah it’s written in his biography by Craig Ekin. What’s even more insane is he shot them with flu flu arrows with blunt tips out of his 80# bamboo longbow and they still penetrated and knocked the stuntmen off of the horses, while they were wearing layers of cloth and clothing, wooden planks and even sheet metal. The 30s were a wild time

I think what always seem to get missed by viewers is understanding trained ppl are involved in performances. The performance with a group shooting near each other, that group likely isn't new archers at that range. They are likely regulars who have be specifically trained for doing that performance. If a bunch of inexperienced archers see it and copy it, that's on them if something goes wrong, not the range nor those in the video. This is why we have warning labels on everything. This is why sports come with warnings. Accountability is 100% on those who choose to do something without experience.

I only blame you Armin for all of the bows i bought hah. Good video, everyone should use common sense and know their safety zone where they need to stay. Leave the trickery to professionals boys and girls!

When someone is purchasing a product based on a third party's video and causes harm, the responsibility still lies with the person who caused the harm. It is as simple as taking responsibility for one's own actions.

I think the method of loading arrows into your tongah is wrong, they should slide in from the back head first and not be pushed in from the side. This will save your feathers and also ensure the arrow head is within the tube if you have a tongah which becomes more enclosed at the end.

New equipment isnt like changing your stance or how you draw. Equipment always has a learning curve. Even swapping to a thumb ring when you've only ever used a bit of leather. Dangerous equipment usually needs an instructor of some kind and lacking one, a high expectation of injury. A reviewer, especially one who emphasizes the danger and even relays an anecdote of a professional getting injured, can't be held responsible. The end user spent the money and grabbed a tool he didn't know how to use. Now he has a gnarly scar and a life lesson, if he decides to learn it.

On my youtube channel, I had a lot of criticism that I was endangering children's lives. When I was shooting at a target from 30 meters and the children who were watching were 15 meters behind the tape, that is, 45 meters from the target, I was attacked by sport shooters, supposedly the arrow bounces off the target, flies back those 45 meters and kills the onlooker. It's just that people don't use their brains and just deliberately attack people who create something and just want to devalue the work of others, because they can't create anything themselves. It is ordinary human envy.@@tiobi6633

It's kinda sad that one needs to take the effort and explain himself/herself after any non consistent complains, just because there are some oversensitive (and most probably incompetent) people generating tension - unconsciously or not. This is a cool channel with responsible presentation and author. For the complainers, sorry to say, but: If one doesn't like an author, a content or a channel, he/she/it should just spare everyone's energy and look for a fitting one that serves his/her/its neurotic needs so everyone can live happily ever after.

You made some good points sensibly. Safe backdrop is a must for pretty much any shooting sport. There is a lack of personal responsibility and lots of blame game in many of the "new" safety culture.
@poppymason-smith1051 Жыл бұрын
Someone hurt themselves on a tongah and blames you? I mean I always consider archery to be inherently dangerous when theres sharp objects involved and things under a lot of tension. If i injured myself at my local club and it was self inflicted I would not be blaming the club??

One time I read a comment on bows vs guns, like: "...I trust bows more then guns... there is a significantly less chance to commit suicide with a bow... " - It never ever occurred to me that it is doable at all, but hey, in the name of equal rights and all, why deny the right and chance for the Darwin Award nominees. I mean, c'mon... we all should be reasonable enough.

whatever style of bow you want to practice, it's better to start in a club to learn some security prinicipes and to use them collectively, have the safety reflexe the videos are very surprising, not very comforting (howard Hill...)

I think there's a big difference between "full time performancers" like Mr. Ferguson and an amateur class of people coming together once a week for training. My eyebrows went really up when I watched the video at the beginning 😅
@Kersich86 Жыл бұрын
the last tongah you had in your video was 10x more dangerous that the other ones. not to say that it was 10x more expensive. the problem was not your video in itself the problem was advertising a dangerous product to people without experience. you had to say do not buy this period. please do a video on the groove depth between the 3. As you are pointing to bows people should not buy, the same should apply to accessories. I know its much easier to critique a company then a friend but that overpriced piece of dangerous wood when compared with other tongah should have received a much worse review. Even from the videos is clear that you struggle with and fear the last one more then any of the other two but the amount of time you emphasize the danger is way less. So somebody watching your videos would tend to believe the last one is the safest. So with great power comes great responsability i guess. Also not to mention that it costs almost as a full bow, and not mentioning that clearly shows some bias in the review process.

Because a fully grown adult who could clearly see the issues being had at a level the others didn't shouldn't be held responsible for not utilizing the lump of grey matter for more than a counterweight. Because a fully grown adult who saw those issues and went ahead anyway got hurt its somehow not their own fault. Because a fully grown adult who doesn't trip or drown when they try to velcro their shoes should be intelligent enough to understand tension can cause things to break and that sharp pointy things will appear from this rapid unplanned disassembly. In your world, no one would ever have to be responsible for making their own damn decisions because they don't have the capacity to comprehend, think, or be in any way responsible much like a perpetual toddler. Grow up, you and the person who got hurt. Learn to think, learn to use something and expect injuries if you don't, and at the end of the day no one is reaching in your pocket to spend the money nor holding you under duress to do a particular thing. Life will be better when you learn a little accountability kid

There is one iron rule in sportshooting: NOBODY is in front of the shooter! Thats why this demonstration in the video clip is irresponsible! What if one of the standing shooters stumbles and releases the arrow while falling? Sorry, this demonstration is a perfect demonstration of irresponsibility!

. Auch hier gilt "never say never"!
