Male pigtail macaques can be considerably more difficult to raise and take care of as they tend to be more prone to biting in situations that a female normally wouldn't, they are also much less forgiving that females and because of this, most people who want to raise a macqque tend to opt for the female option rather than the males. To see the male you have raised treating you with reverence and respect means you have most definitely put in a great deal of work to earn his trust.

JK has a good, trusting relationship with Jamil. The only problem with monkeys is that they are "wild" animals. You can't take the wild out of them, which makes them unpredictable at any time. Look at the Tigers that Siegfred & Roy raised. Then one fateful day, the unthinkable happened. I love but also respect "Big Cats".

Shittalk. They are lovely forever-pets!! I grow up with my best friend's little monkey-brother, a Green Marecat from Tanzania, Africa.He died 22-23 years old, afrer a bad infection.41 years ago. We still missing him,that was with us every day. We swim with him in the lake, we hichhiking with him to town and go to the café with him, He riding bysyckel with my friend.He had one case at home,but he use it only as a toalet,and he learn it by himself..Never do anything on the floor or in the sofa,bed....

Learn why he has these macaques in the first place and learn about the laws regarding "pet macaques " in Malaysia. then compare their care to the monkey channels from cambodia. These monkeys can never be released to the wild, they are rescues and getting the best care that can be given them with plenty of love considering that being released into the wild is not an option. Watch some of the "Ask jamil" videos to learn their history. Sure, he dresses them up. No harm in it and he has his reasons. Mr. Jamil does not mistreat his family. He gives them more patience, love, care and attention than most children in good families get.

A lot of people don't understand Macaques live in troops and males become more dominant as they age. Like you say if you hurt them when they are a bit smaller they can and will hurt you back later. Don't listen to people who don't know Jamil .. JK Shaki would die in the wild and you know that! Also their hearts would be broken! They would not mix well with the Wild Macaques and would probably be killed before they starve to death!
