An alternate route for higher level builds is running 80 arcane with 40 faith and use the dragon communion seal in your right hand for the stupid high incant scaling as well as letting you use the flowerstone gavel in the build😁

That's awesome. I was surprised fextra didn't go for the flowerstone gavel debuff. It also gives you the flexibility to slot a couple dragon communion incants and makes a better case for using the death knight set (since you're getting a bit more damage from the Gavel).

I feel this is probably the true spirit of the build, even with minimal str investment it has good AR, and ideally you just use it to debuff on bigger targets, then swap to your preferred casting seal. With GSS in the offhand you can still cast your spells to great effect, and once you have two GSS it's an even better combo. Super fun. While not as connected with the build, as a bonus, you get access to tons of ways to bleed/poison super effectively. Poisoned Hand is fun and super effective way to get in more passive damage without putting on much more weight.

This is the one I voted on and it looks great. I’m surprised at the level 7 and I’m glad it was shown that way. Definitely use Knight’s Lightning Spear and then Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike once they are stance broken. I unintentionally did a near no hit run on NG+2 as a Dragon Cultist (I called it the Lightning god). Use Frozen Lightning Spear when Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike is not appropriate. The former may hit more than the latter. The Dragonskin Katana is nice, because of the weapon buff. The Dragon Halberd has the same lightning and has a better moveset and the lightning buff seems to last longer. I recommend that ONE of your talismans be Radagon’s to increase spell cast speed.

hey i skilled dex and faith to 60 (level 150) i like to play with nagakiba with lightning armament and bolt of gransax ( better if i go full dex but its fun). is the dragonskin katana good for my stats? since it scales with dex? and is the ashe of war of dragonskin katana usefull?

@@ZyklonFX It’s nowhere near as good as the Bolt of Gransax. It’s the shortest katana and the buff doesn’t last that long. It does decent damage, but the halberd is still better and neither are as good as the Bolt of Gransax.

If you face a bigger boss who isn't an ancient dragon, the ancient dragon lighting strike incantation is disgustingly powerful! In me second playthrough (NG+1), I simply vaporised radahn (main game) and fire giant with this single incantation! Once charged, it'll do 5 digit damages, even with minimum stat requirements and next to nothing buffs. I can't sell you enough how nuclear this thing is!!!

I think Electrocharge would have been a sublime incant if it worked similar to Terra Magica. Except you'll constantly have access to the buff instead of losing it when you leave. Or similar to Vykes Lightning Bolt, get a buff to defense but a buff to lighting attacks instead of weapon. Also how well does Knight's Lightning Bolt work against Radahn Consort of Miquella in terms of stance breaking him?

Apparently, it’s a good spell to use for PCR. Considering how the fight leaves minimal margin of errors I don’t see you building up a stance break that often. I can’t confirm as I was going for a different playstyle and didn’t know about this spell as I was going in with minimal spoilers.

I really like these transformation items (Rock/Priestess Heart & Lamenter's Mask). It would have been amazing if FS had included a version that transforms you into a Dragon Knight with decent (51+) poise and damage negation. Since reading DragonLance as a youngster, I've always wanted to play a Draconian warrior in a video game. Thanks for the constant content/builds.

I literally B-lined to knight's lightning spear as soon as I started the DLC. No regrets. That spell slaps so damn hard. Even not being min maxed, it just wrecks. My favorite addition to the DLC for my faith character. It's a real shame Electrocharge was a bust... they scaled it for drip at least.

Highly recommend changing your healing/FP flask to your pouches. All you have to do is Hold Y then press left or right on the d-pad to instantly use your flask. Much quicker and better than sliding through your equipment on the bottom. Plus more slots for other items

Or you can make this into a fth/arc build with using the flowerstone gavel for more lightning damage, maybe using the dragon communion seal instead of the erdtree seal due to it's higher scaling all round with arcane and it's boost to dragon communion spells if someone wants to. Of course, I'd personally use the radagon icon instead of the lightning scorpion charm because I think quicker casting speed and being able to tank slightly more is better than more damage.

Knights lightning spear is absolutely insane. The charged cast hits like a truck and like a friggin airplane when you're standing in water. I used it all the way in my faith playthrough and even killed the final boss with it, even though that was a tough one because the animation is quite slow and if you don't time it right, you're gonna get punished.

Currently meh with this kind of build. I've been messing around with it lately and my current build isn't quite hitting that sweet spot of fun/viability. It almost one shots certain normal enemies, does decent damage on some bosses, but that bloody twin-axe is not great when in normal melee, skill slaps when you don't bounce off or completely bypass your target because weird tracking. I just feel the normal axes didn't get any love, powerstancing is just so bad with them. Long haft is much better in my opinion, and power stancing just about moghlests just about everything, lol. It's about 50/50 strength and dex with my character right now. Somewhere in the 48 or 52's. If I mess with it more and respec I think I can get it to insane levels like Fex said. Will dabble again before I start NG+.

Another backup weapon you can use is cypher pata, which is a good weapon for a few reasons. First is it literally weighs nothing, so there is little to no downside to equiping it, and it does not really care about shields and will do most of not all of its damage regardless. Other mentionables are it solely does holy, and is about dagger size.

I made the same build a few days ago and I highly recommend using Black Flame’s Protection for the extra 35% Physical damage negation. There aren’t any body buffs for lightning damage so using BFP is great for this no-armor build. As for talismans I have the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman instead of the Crusade Insignia, again, for that Physical damage negation. I also like to use Lansseax’s Glaive when going against a group of enemies. Everything else is a 1:1 with my build.

You said you want to do a bow build, I recently swapped one of my older characters to a katana / bow / smithiscript dagger build. Dex / Arc. - Mask of Confidence / Zamor armor / Zamor Bracelets / Radahn Soldier Greaves. Called him The Exiled. - Occult Great Katana with Blood Tax / Occult Uchigatana with Blood Blade / Moonveil / Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana / Cold Smithiscript Dagger with Scattershot Throw / Occult Wakizashi with Parry / Ansbach''s Longbow - Rotten Winged Sword Insignia / Shard of Alexander / Lord of Blood's Exultation / Arrow's Soaring Sting Talisman - Flask is Thorny Cracked Tear / Bloodsucking Cracked Tear - Golden Order seal for Golden Vow and Flame Grant me Strength Obviously it's very strong for exploring due to having options for close range and far range combat. During boss fights the Bloodsucking tear kicks in, either you die or the boss. Blood Tax helps mitigate a lot of that damage. I'm thinking maybe I add a greatbow with Rain of Arrows for bigger targets, but I already carry 2 items on right hand and 3 items on left as is.

As far as I'm aware Miquellas light is bugged the spell itself doesn't get buffed by anything. The sword of light works because it doesn't buff the spell, it buffs all holy damage, same with the sacred scorpion charm. Circlet of light, Faithful Canvas Talisman, Flocks Canvas Talisman and The Dryleaf seal don't boost the damage at all.

I played with the electrocharge on my thorn sorcerer - I tried using it with mantle of thorns, which you can do, but even together they are garbage. I appreciate there are a lot of different types of spells - I don't want all the same stuff with different makeup. But a few are worthless. This is a very powerful build. I've got a dragon cultist, but I grabbed the dragon priestess spirit ash and got locked out of her heart on this playthrough. Still, even without that buff it's a powerful build

That extra damage and scaling from leveling a seal is only applied to the spell based on the seal it was casted from, so the gravel stone seal in his offhand has no reason to be leveled up, and is only there because the thing that does carry over to the spell from an offhand seal is whatever special effect that seal has. So, in regards to smithing stone levels, only the seal you actually cast with matters.

I feel stupid been using ancient dragon lightning strike for a long time and never knew you could charge it. You could use boiled crabs to boost your damage negation by 20% for 60 seconds with no side effects.

For melee enemies ancient dragon spear or fortissax's lightning spear are also okay. My version of this used a Milady and I would just electrify it for solid damage. I wish the damage boost was more than 20% because sometimes being so squishy isnt worth the 10% or so damage you get over rakshasa or death Knight armor.

Running this build but I’m using dex faith build lightning god. All the lightning spells and weapons (spear, axe, great katana and the backhand blade which can be infusable with red lightning, and yes I also use lightning pots lol). I can say it’s more fun to play with a lot of weapons with the same theme than just spamming one spell. Other incantations also lifts you up in the air, so you can use that as jump/dodge and counter attack the boss. Give it a try and you would enjoy ER better than just spamming one spell or jumping r2 every boss and mobs you see. :)

That's what I'm going to try as a communion build with cult incantations sprinkled in. One thing I forsee as a possible issue is that these heart consumables can only be deactivated by dying, so switching between them or actual Armour is going to be annoying or not even plausible depending on the situation. Being able to disable these things in a menu or something would have been amazing.

I can vouch that this build is OP. My character is Blessing lv20 at NG+7 Lv325 and I'm doing a lot of damage almost one shooting bosses with this combo. Even raddhan is going down quick enough plus I use the priestess summon which lowers enemy lightning res.

Great video as always. Was thinking of doing a two hearted dragon build. Using rock heart and dragon communion seal for communion spells and having stone gravel in off hand and applying priestess heart for cult. Crank faith and arcane and just switch back and forth depending on the situation. Can you equip rock heart and priestess heart in your item slots at the same time?

I just want to point out that in the dlc areas, bosses have immense stagger values it seems compared to base areas on NG+ and up. So focusing on breaks might not be ideal and just pumping damage any way you can would be better

I recommend blue dancer charm if you are going to be using only the seals and the dragon heart

It's actually not good for this build I believe. That charm only increases physical damage at low weight. Not attack power. So the blue dancer charm would be doing nothing for any spell that doesn't do physical, which is all of them in this case. It is good for the dragon communion version of the rock heart though, since there are a couple spells there that do physical damage.

I play with this build in SoET DLC it pretty strong because most boss room are flooding mean you get more 20% damage boost also you can use Hook claw with flame art for melee damage or Keen + Electrify armament, this weapon request very low stats but high damage output compare with other type weapon

Any thoughts on a poison flower blooms twice build? That's what I used to take down Radahn, but I can't help but think there are fun ways to optimize poison builds.

I always thought censoring the boss names but still showing the fights in these videos was strange (since it's not exactly keeping spoilers secret), but to then just go and say the names _anyway_ while confirming how you're only at 7 scadutree level... well that's certainly a choice.

I build it with 45vig, 25mind, 15end, 14str, 10dex, 10int, 35fai and 75arc at lvl 150, with the Godrick's rune. Flowerstone Gavel and Dragon Communion Seal in main hand, Gravel Stone Seal and Sacrificial Axe in off-hand

Just wanted to point out. If you're going to blur the names of busses, maybe blur what they drop on death. Heart of Bayle in this case. Although I struggle as to why you blur the names at all for builds that require late game stuff.

Well it's kind of meh right now on spoilers for most people. Most of the DLC has been spoiled in one way or another. Last boss was spoiled for me like 4 times in one day, still enjoyed the fight, though. 😅
