This bike is very intriguing to me. At that price point it seems like a great value. Seems like a lot of bikes are coming under braked, that was my first upgrade on my Orbea. Good honest review, hope you get some more time on the bike.
@JaredRMorgan2 жыл бұрын
It is indeed a great value. For me and my riding style, I think the Polygon Siskiu T8 would be a big contender, but there are pros/cons to each and I wouldn’t blame a rider for choosing either of the two.

Thanks for watching, and I’m glad you liked it. Also, totally agree bikes coming under-braked is the trend.

Trail bikes need to come spec'd 180/180 at least
@hussaf12 жыл бұрын
@@JaredRMorgan I’m looking at those bikes now. I love the paint scheme for the T8, and the SLX, but it’s just a little too much bike for my area where I have short, punchy climbs and a log of switchbacks up ravines and mostly flat areas. I wish Polygon had a D8 spec for their downcountry bike. Thanks for the review of the Abajo!

Hey, nice review! Since my bike is in the shop for a week, I'm looking for a new lightweight saddle before my race next month and I saw the one that is on yours, can you tell me what it is? Thanks!
@JaredRMorgan2 жыл бұрын
So this bike had a Selle Italia I think? I'm not 100% sure! Def a lighter weight saddle.

Good straight to the point review 👍 is this more comparable to the T7 or the T8?
@JaredRMorgan Жыл бұрын
Comparable yes, but the geo is where they’re quite different. The Siskiu bikes are way more modern, and as a result they descend much better in my opinion.

How you like the Ferzarri from the polygon?
@JaredRMorgan2 жыл бұрын
The Siskiu T is more of a descender where the fezz shines in the climbs. Very different bikes.
@JustinLake2 жыл бұрын
@@JaredRMorgan Can you expound on this a bit more? I was seriously considering the Abajo Peak but my T7 just showed up today. I live in Texas Hill Country, so there aren't any major climbs out here, which is why I felt good about the Polygon. It seems like the fork, suspension, and Shimano gear component sets would be superior on the T7, would you agree?

Considered the 2022 Abajo, for commuting & epic Autumn weekend trail rides. Dilemma: The wait time for the bike & the price compared to similar brands. Don't trust tubeless. Seems like a rich-boy's toy, just to say..."Ooooh. I got tubeless." Always preferred the tube & tube liner, which I've had zero flats in decades, only to change worn-out tires. My current tire tubes have been used for three years(and Winters). Why mtb fanatics, are infatuated with more gears on the cassette? How much is enough. Been using eight, nine & ten speed for thirty-three years. Affordable, and reliable. Those wide rims, are a real disaster for heavy riders, though the shock displaces some of the weight compared to a hardtail. The wide rims, shave material to remove weight. And those rims, just shatter supporting heavy riders over 230 pounds(most flakes on full-suspension are less than 180 pounds). The wait time(not patient), was six weeks for a XL Abajo. That's six weeks of lost riding. Ended-up in the Euro-market, receiving a CTM Scout, equipped with SRAM SX, Suntour Aion and X-fusion suspension. 29x2.35 tires(perfect for 30mm internal width rims), and bombproof Halo wheelset. Come-on America. Europe & Asia market is killing ya.

Glad you found the right bike for you, but in true mountain biking applications tubes are terrible. One tiny puncture and it’s all over, not to mention you can’t run good pressures without the risk of pinch flats. Tubeless allows that. When I ride trails I only have 20 PSI up front and 25 in back to maximize grip….If I was running tubes they’d probably go in the first 5 minutes. So it’s far from just hype…it’s the standard for a reason. I agree with you on the cassettes though, I was cool with 10 speed. Lol.
