It's always puzzled me why PIF seem so intent on helping opposition clubs by offering inflated prices to buy players. They offered Liverpool £200M for Salah. If he had gone that would have given the Scousers tremendous financial leverage (on top of the inflated Henderson deal) with regards to FFP - and hampered the PL club they own even Further! I just don't get it

Yea it seems like all the premier league clubs hands are tied. Apart from the top 6 . When there’s a false start in a 400 meter race they’ll bring them all back to the beginning . Not in the premier league let the big 6 take advantage of the false start. Corrupt to the core. 🤔

They wont because ultimately they don't give a shit about Newcastle they care far more about their own Saudi teams(and rightly so) Which is why i always thought it was bonkers that people actually thought wed get players from saudi teams on loan. Like they were actually ever going to put us over their own needs.

Football is the only industry where owners are not allowed to spend on THEIR assets! It's a restriction of trade and surely there's a law against that!? FFP even stops smaller clubs from spending to their full potential too. It's all to protect that so called big 6 who were able to get all their sponsorships and back handed deals in place before any FFP rules came in. All so they can still spend big regardless of FFP because they have all the deals there. It's simply an anti competition rule.
@tgdkls5891
@tgdkls5891 6 ай бұрын
In some countries, FFP would be illegal under anti-monopoly or fair competition laws. Clearly the main FFP impact is to prevent anyone catching up to the big six. os Those who built a massive squad value and turnover base before FFP got serious, can continue to outspend others even if others have the funds. Wouldn't be allowed in any other walk of life.

It wasn't immediately apparent to me but is becoming increasingly clear that all ffp does is preserve the dominance of the 'traditional' top 6. How is any club supposed to catch teams who are able to make £190-470m (Spurs-Man City) more in revenue other clubs are not allowed to improve their revenue stream by improving the team or stadium??? Especially given what city & chelsea have got away with over the last 10 years & now the suits at uefa have basically locked the doors behind them & made sure no other club gets a look in! I don’t know why i'm surprised mind, football is as corrupt as boxing! Cheers keith.

We have to listen to fans from other clubs talking about our ownership and spending but we cant spend while slated by all media for saudi ownershio . Or do a Man City and buy who you want…and to hell with FFP. Would a dramatically improved squad accumulate more than an additional 10pts? 10pts is a single season pain, the squad would be with you from that point on. Is there another way to break the top 6 monopoly? FFP is to ensure financial sustainability, PIF are financially sustainable by default. Regardless what they invest, it’s a rounding error.

Ah whatever, rules are there for a reason. We've had 20-30 years worth of Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and as of late City, that won't change and thats what the rules are there for. Boring and detrimental to the league. The likes of Newcastle, Villa etc have no chance of breaking that top 6 - I'm not talking about 1 off seasons like what we did last year and what Villa are doing this year.

Newcastle will bridge the gap, might take a few years but as returns from European seasons build up and we can demand more from sponsors to boost the commercial revenues, we'll close the gap and eventually overtake at least Spurs. We're already ahead of the "other 13." We have a coach who can get the most out of even Bruce/Ashley players so if he gets 3 or 4 really good new players every year, there's no reason he cannot repeat last season's form and keep us in Europe, and bothering the latter stages of cups.

Frustrated??? Look at those loaned out, unused and unwanted players in our squad first. The bloody fact is that we can only maintain our current squad until the contracts of our deadwoods are finally expired. Then we can “finally” talk about the new players. It doesn’t matter how much that Ashley “generously” spent for Joelinton, Wilson, or else (since he supposed to do it long time ago); signing some wrong players while giving some undeserved players the extensions to stay longer are the big hit for us, and people have failed to realize it but the FFP? Sorry to say it but FFP has a “really good reason” to block us from any signings while we still have those deadwoods onboard. Release all them first before talking that FFP. I don’t need to point out who those deadwoods are but I am sure that it’s not hard for everyone to list them all. Sell our star players to improve the squad??? What a joke but they are just talking about the facts. Just get rid of those deadwoods first!
