Hi there, Looking for a good set of wheels at a reasonable(ish) price. Following your views and reviews on the FFWD RYOTs i decided to go with the RYOT 44s on the DT Swiss 240 hub for my Trek Emonda. The whole galvanic corrosion was a real thing for me as ive no intention of paying over a grand to have a bunch of corrosion (or even the chance of). For most things I know what I want but jeez choosing wheels is hard, just unnecessary too many choises. Why is it still so hard to make a wheel after all these years of evolution. So I really wanted this Ryot 44 but the lowest price I could find was 1350 euro with the dt240 hubs and that was really hard to justify for me, I'm riding for many many years and I always laught when people's paid that much of money on wheels, now I'm one off those people, I'm a little ashamed, 😊 but i went for the Bontrager Aeolus 37pro for1050euro, thx for making this video it helped a lot.

Can you comment on the ffwd brand of hubs? The latest models appear to be a ratchet system and quite similar in price and weight to the dt swiss 350. Are they any good or would you recommend spending additional 300 € on the upgrade to 240 hubs?
@Mapdec2 жыл бұрын
They are good, they hold spares etc. You sometimes see FFWD on DT 350 hubs from retailers. The extra cost to the 240s would be marginally lighter and prove easier to change freehubs and end caps in say 5 years time.

Hi! I would really appreciate your input about which ones would you choose and why. Also, about my main concern regarding the FFWD wheel set, I would like to know whether it is as hard as I have read here and there to mount and remove the tyres off these rims (this feature is really important to me when choosing a set of wheels, I don't want to have to go to my local shop everytime I need to change tyres, and I don't want to have to wrestle a savage bear every time I do it at home either. I'm still new to cycling and this elitiest pricing for parts is really making me not enjoy the sport. I picked up an entry level bike and any 1 part i want to upgrade is going to cost more than the entire bike. There is zero logic in that. 5% Better wheel performance butat 8x the entire price of the bike? How? Why? Youl can't tell me there is 2500$ in carbon fibre, or labor in those wheels not a chance.
