I can see this type of set becoming more important in specificaly odyssey. Lack of sub jobs would require gear to supplement. Seeing these numbers though blows my mind, especially thinking what new Empy set will look like because it should be a step up even from this.

Something I really want to test is a Corsair’s Avengers Roll. That’s an additional 24% Counter so your build becomes 68% Counter. Avengers and Samurai Roll for tanking.-

That would be incredible, but if your still Evading 80% of the time I'm still fearful it's not going to have the impact I am hoping it would. I'm almost thinking maybe to use less eva in the accessories of the set in an effort to proc Counter more, but that really sounds backwards to me. Regardless it's pretty awesome we have multiple ways to evade attacks now above that 80% cap and keep pushing total evasion closer to 100%. I engaged Mboze today and immediately Intimidated his first spell, made me smile.

@@NextGamesGuide You would have floored evasion on anything serious tho. Unless with 2x mambo (possibly with SV). So counter sets seems interesting against group of high lvl mobs. Now for single mob Im not sure, because ideally you would want to keep shadows anyway, so counter wouldn't work. Unless switch to counter only when casting shadows, but interrupting shadow casting on NIN is usually not an issue, unless against some hundred fisting enemy or someone naturally hitting a lot like Caith? So Im not sure if avanger roll would be that useful for single enemy.

The thing that boggles my mind about the higher evasion, is Mpaca actually has total lower EVA than Malignance AND far less AGI; and, Mpaca has far better DEF, HP and VIT. So the taking less damage makes sense when you stack on the pdt etc, however the only thing I can think of for evading better with less EVA is that SE is implementing invisible stats to armor we can't currently see. An example of this 'might' be that the armor is technically higher than '119' maybe and therefore you are treated like a higher level target? Idk. Se and there weird stats/armor/formulas. *edit* does the parser count a 'intimidate' as evasion? cuz the set does have 17~ on it.

I had a similar thought, as I have no explanation as to why this set did as well as it did over and over and over. I kept thinking it must be some mistake. I do NOT know how the parse calculates intimidate, but yes I have a feeling both intimdate and counters go into the parrying column

I just added this up as well. Stats don't add up to what is obviously fact in his trials, it's way more Eva.

Mpaca Killer Effects combo w/ Counter is making all the difference which is seriously eye opening. Even in using just WS sets utilizing Mpaca I was seeing Intimidation kick in vs Gin. Mpaca Body + Legs w/ rest Malignance would probably be best in almost all scenarios minus Gin since he is THF and Daken will never touch him w/o any R.Acc.

Christ, I was recently building Ninja about 2 weeks ago and I pretty much had the Mpaca set from the beginning because I was going into Odyssey on samurai yeah I think I'll stick with this and build on the other stuff that's not defensive. My best katana is a augmented Tancho+1 I want to get that Ambu Katana next.

I'm not though all of your vids as a new subscriber. But I'm curious of a few things. If you happen to plan on any other job guides like you did nin. I'm a thf, pld, rdm, sam, dark, nin. Also as a returning player after a number of years, some of these gears seem very difficult to obtain solo. If you have addressed any of these I apologize and thanks for the awesome vids. I know they take time!

I am currently working on a guides for Red Mage, Dragoon, Thief and Summoner that will be out later in the year but no Ninja is the one I've covered extensively at this time. In regards to difficult to obtain gears, you are correct there is definitely a progression there. I would recommend checking out my A Guide to Ninja series from the start if you have not. Around Episode 6 I start talking about starting gearsets that help you then step up to Beginner Gear, Intermediate, Advanced, End Game and so on. Malignance has +50 to both Acc/R.Acc while Mpaca only has +40 exclusively towards Acc itself meaning Daken can & will be an issue vs high EVA targets. Mpaca sounds amazing for MNK to TP in while Ken+1 sounds like w/ both NIN + MNK that you better have endless MP available to Cure Bomb you nonstop. NIN 3/5 Malignance w/ Mpaca Body + Legs allows you to keep R.Acc at a decent +150 while also keeping Counter+10 and Subtle Blow II+5 and Killer Effects +10 and a boost in MDB+12

All true, Mpaca is more of a defenders set while Malignance is more a mixed defense and DD. I truthfully have yet to really find solid use for the Mpaca, it's fun to play with some of the pieces but I've not found a solid use for any of them end game. The 3/5 combo you mention is the one I've been playing with and how it does make the set more defense minded with the counter, sb II and killer I just haven't noticed good results with it, it ends up lowering my dps and doesn't appear to offer me any more survivability based to what I would expect from 5/5 Malignance. I just stick with 5/5 Malignance as it's really hard to beat as an all around set, I rarely even equip ken+1 anymore which is kind of sad. Perhaps the higher tier augs released for this set next week will change my mind. :)

The Counter set is simply the Evasion set with Mpaca body, Counter +10 Back, Empy Pants and Bathy Choker. Hope this helps.

Awesome video. I was looking through the evasion video, and couldn't see what the accessories were when you switch the second mpaca evasion set. Looks like a Dring, gelatinous ring, elemental belt, odnowa earring, eabani earring.. unsure on the neck? I can afford the Mpaca set, but not the Ken+1 set. Would NQ Ken set still be a better dps set than NQ Mpaca? I'm currently using a combination of Adhemar (head, body, hands) and Mummu+2 (legs and feet).

HQ Ken is better than NQ MPaca but not by a huge amount. I'd probably recommend getting mpaca and then focusing on getting your malignance set which IMO is the main set you should be in right now and the one I find myself in 99% of the time.

Can you make a video with the Nyame set? It seems as good as the Mpaca + Malignance together as for evasion, M evasion and DT and you get more HP and DEF. Seems like a great tanking set?

It's an good tanking set but really I prefer Malignance Head, Hands Feet and MPaca body, Legs for my new tanking set. Nyame is good but I really see most using it for the Weaponskill path or magic path and not turning it into a tp/def set. Will be doing some vids on the new set options soon and will be covering this.

I dont understand why, Malignance set and mpaca have the same evasion but the Kendatsuba Garb Set +1 has more evasion but you get hit alot more Am i missing something??

Not sure what you mean but Malignance has far more evasion then Kendatsuba. Just as an example 70 eva on kendatsuba +1 and 102 on Malignance. The big change here is the killer effects and counter effect on the mpaca gear. In general I find those stats aren't worth it but when facing this amount of mobs it really adds up.

Oneiros Belt and an Augmented Bathy Choker. Chocker helps quite a bit, belt is just for added HP and can really be swapped with anything including an evasion belt.

Yes I'm comparing the elite sets that I have gone over in previous videos in the series and how they compare to the new set. Sets to me include everything including accessories and how it works together. So comparing my DD set (Kendatsuba), normal BossDD set (Malignance), normal Eva set (Malignance with eva) and this set (tanking set) which despite it's lower eva numbers then the Malignance set shows promise in total evasion due to it's additional stats.

Not likely. White damage suffers a lot with this build. Also your mostly not fighting so much at once and don't need this kind of Evasion. Evasion builds have always been a thing. Just taken a back seat since zerg meta became a thing.

Next time you do a test between Mpaca and Malignance at least cap PDT on the Malignance set which is probably the main you died, you were missing 11% PDT.

This video was to compare Ninja's normal gearsets vs how this one could be used. Specifically DD, BossDD and Evasion gearsets and how they compare when defensive numbers are taken into account. Changing around the normal gear we have in those sets wouldnt have made sense as this is a comparison of those sets.

I really do think the point of this video was lost on you. The data collection showing the different defensive stats parse'ed in the sets is what was being shown here. I think your a little too focused on the part of the video where I had already shown the data of the sets and was just messing around seeing how many apex mobs one could get with this new set.

@@NextGamesGuide He is kinda right tho. When you switched to Malignance at the end, you switched to Malignance DD set, not evasion set. You had no phalanx and no healer. It's perfectly possible that with slightly higer evasion, capped PDT and phalanx and Yoran, you would stay alive almost as easily as with Mpaca.
