No. If things aren't going wrong then give it to the tanks, but if someone needs spot healing or a shield because they're taking a mechanic or have a vuln then give them something instead of the tank. DPS cards go to dps.

Not quite. Bole, in particular, is great on DPS who are eating Vuln stacks or avoidable damage when a raidwide is coming. When used in conjunction with other tools like Celestial Intersection and/or Ewer, you can avoid having to waste an ED or GCD heal on this theoretical player entirely. Arrow is probably the hardest to use, but it's great if you have a SCH co-healer who can communicate well for Spreadlo from a specified target. If things are going well, sure. Throw them on the tank. But there is plenty of room to optimise the non-DPS cards so that you can keep your own DPS rolling or avoid panic-wasting your ED charges. Optimising the cards in this way can certainly separate the decent/mediocre ASTs from the better ones. Especially under pressure.

My go-to healer as a SCH main when I feel like playing something other than SCH. With an extremely predictable rotation now, I really like the new AST, plus I only need to manage 2 dps buff cards every 2 min, both easily being slotted in my 2 min burst. Guaranteed Lord of Crowns every burst window, too. Lady of Crowns is also extremely easy to plan for, and in early levels (ARR especially), the healing cards are busted and help make it better than whm in every single way unless you somehow NEED Benediction for a niche npc heal.

On the one hand, I want my main healer to be AST... on the other, I have even worse Healer Anxiety than Tanxiety, and I'm only comfy tanking MSQ and trusts, so... I suspect unless one healer really clicks, I'll probably avoid having to play it outside of leveling it.

33:00 - I know it doesn't make any sense, and that it's inconsistent with every other job released pre-ew, but the level 70 job quest is currently not required to use lord/lady of crowns. I don't know if it was different in previous expansions, since I only picked it up during this one

/ac "Benefic II" /ac "Benefic" /merror off /micon "Benefic" I almost never use Benefic, and once I have Benefic 2, there's really no reason (at least with WHM, Cure 1 is faster and significantly cheaper than Cure 2, but Benefic 2 is ALMOST a straight upgrade (it's slightly more MP, but not a lot, and AST doesn't have MP issues), so I use this macro EXCLUSIVELY so when I do synced content below level 26, I don't have to swap buttons out on my hotbar. This entirely for that reason. I rarely use Benefic 2 in higher end content, so it being a macro isn't really much of an issue to me. wtb option to auto-upgrage Benefic 1 -> 2 (also Cure 1 and 2, but Benefic is completely overwritten/outclassed by Benefic 2 in every realistic way...)

I still hope that somewhere along the way during DT they remove the job type restrictions from the damage cards. I could stomach them in EW as you got so many cards, but now that our buffing is a shell of what it was, it kinda stinks especially at lower levels. Oracle helps bridge the gap by 100, but I posit every time that rebuttal happens that there's more to the game than max level...

Question: Due to astral cards being available pre-pull that makes the Ranged DPS rard allign with Divination and Melee DPS card not, wouldn't it be better to hold on to that Melee card until Divination is off-cooldown and pop it, get new cards and give Ranged card as well all withing 2nd/3rd ans so on Divinations like we do in the opener? that 6% buff will become 1.06*1.06 damage multiplier at the cost of delaying drawing cards for 5-10 seconds?

13:28 - Regarding the Card "The Spear" (Increases Ranged Dmg by 6%, Melee Dmg by 3%): You said the rules are similar to "The Balance" but in reverse. I somewhat disagree. While for the Balance, if you have a good Tank, but only ranged DPS it can be a good idea the reverse is in my experience not true for The Spear. Even if you have only melees, you should rarely give the Spear to yourself (the only ranged in that context). Your DPS-Players would have to be really bad to not outdamage you by a factor of 2. It happens. But it's very rare.

@@WeskAlber I’m glad more people find it accessible to play. I’ve gotten friends to try it compared to last expansion, but me personally I absolutely loved the rng and card play aspect of it. Now it just feels like I press a button to get more heals. It’s fine if others like it and I’m glad they do, I just personally preferred the rng and stuffs
