great combo for big pulls: krasis, physis, kerachole, pan/haima. should be able to do it every pull. alternating panhaima and haima, and you have 15seconds of not caring if the tank uses mitigation pretty much. and when it all wears off you still have taurochole + druo + soteria for heals if anything is still alive. very comfy

Just wanted to point out a thing that you missed covering Eukrasian Diagnosis: normal shield overwrites applies, but ED (no not that one) doesn't overwrite a Scholar's critted Adlo, or Catalyze. It only overrides the Galvanize part of the shield. So theoretically, one character can have Eukrasian Diagnosis Shield, Differential Diagnosis Shield, and a Scholar's Catalyze Shield all on top of each other, for big ass shields. I think the same applies with Scholar's Galvanize, in that it doesn't remove the Differential Diagnosis Shield from the ED crit.
@WeskAlber3 жыл бұрын
That's more a fringe case of a fraction of a percent. You need a SCH and a SGE, both need to make the poor decision of using their GCDs (or be low level, or pre-pull), and both crit. While something possible, didn't seem like worth the few seconds to show off in this already super long video. It'll work, but it's such a rare potential thing
@Vindex0103 жыл бұрын
@@WeskAlber Yeah it is really fringe lol. Just wanted to point it out since I've experienced it fairly often when on 8-man roulettes as a Sage, and when the Scholar and I both try to preshield the Main Tank before the pull. Well done WeskAlber! :D May I suggest something for wall to wall pulls (although it might not be effective but it works for me) :) So when the tank is about to pull: Dyskrasia > Eukrasian Diagnosis (break) > Dyskrasia > Eukrasian Diagnosis (break) > Dyskrasia > Eukrasian Diagnosis (break) > Dyskrasia > Eukrasian Diagnosis > immediately Toxikon > Soteria (the 4th eukrasian diagnosis breaks here) > Toxikon > Toxikon > Toxikon > Dyskrasia spam. The 4 toxicon spam is useful for healing the tank during the early portion of the pull so you and the tank are not overwhelmed. :) Of course you may get a different result hehe. :D Great job as always!

Me, who has been playing Sage since early access and became pretty comfortable with it: I need to watch this. Great guide for people getting into Sage. The thing about control and combining different abilities is true but it takes some time getting used to it. But if you get a hang of it, Sage is a lot of fun. And also pretty strong. The way I approach wall to wall pulls in dungeons: Pre-pull Eukrasian Diagnosis. While the tank is still pulling, Eukrasion Dosis on as many enemies as possible. Refresh Eukrasian Diagnosis when the shield breaks to get more Addersting. When the tank stops, I start AoE damage and weave the following abilities in this order: Krasis on tank -> Physis II -> Kerachole -> Haima/Panhaima. The first three can be used with every pull because of their low cooldown. And you can alternate between Haima and Panhaima. With this you get 10% damage reduction, two buffed regens and a buffed shield on the tank. Combined with the heal from Kardia and the tank's own mitigation and self heal this is usually enough to get through the critical phase of pulls. After the DR from Kerachole drops, I use Taurochole to get another 10% DR up on the tank and after that whatever the situation requires. This is basically what Momo does in his "How to Sage in Dungeons" guide. I can really recommend this guide as an additional resource. It helped me a lot when I reached Endwalker dungeons.

Tip to anyone starting the job: DO NOT underestimate kardia's heals. It is a HUGE source of healing over time, even when compared to the rest of your kit over the course of a dungeon. You want to be spamming your damage gcds to make full use of it because it will add up immensely. Do that and it's very likely that kardia will take top spot on your list of healing done by skill, even in a dungeon like Mt. Gulg that can make you use your full kit for 2/3 of the trash. If you haven't been trying too hard to always be casting and keep your uptime close to 100%, now is the time to start working toward that, especially in trash pulls where your aoe offers you completely free movement and weaves.

Can you even check statistics like that in game? Not that I don’t use Kardia I’m a new sage and that’s one of the first things the quest taught me. But I’ve never seen like a summary of statistics at the end of an activity or in the menu.

I just wanted to say, thank you. I've been really struggling with healing with what used to be my primary healing job. (astrologian) but Since picked up Sage and with this guide along with some others, i've vastly improved my performance, I'm still not performing like amazingly but certainly better on Sage than i ever did as an astrologian. and in hindsight, your warning to "not start healing with Sage" was what made me nervous going in to level it since astrologian was not going well for me. and honestly, Sage feels a lot easier than astro is, I feel like i should have recieved that warning about astrologian in retrospect, astrologian feels way worse of a choice for "your first healer" than Sage is. Which is funny because it starts at a lower level and ON PAPER it's not that different from white mage but in practice it's way more difficult than any other healer in my experience so far. Astrologian is certainly more overwhelming than Sage is in terms of OGCD management, how tricky it is to get the most out of Star compared to how "fire and forget" stuff like Pheuma is, but it may just be because astrologians have the "hardest" bread and butter opener of the healers because of Divination and how mission critical perfect weaving is for that job due to cards. It's funny when i look back on my logs where on Sage i generally have a few minor instances on not weaving properly where i went like addersgall heal+cooldown before i went back to dosis spam, where with Astro is was more like 18 instances of incorrect weaving/delayed malefics and 90 percent of them were card management related.

A tip I want to add about Kardia in trials and raids, a good way to heal a party member back up, if they get hit by an AoE, or after they get raised, give that person Kardia, you can also use Soteria after you give them kardia, if you're low on addersgall or might need them for an upcoming mechanic. Just remember to give the tank kardia again after you've healed your party member.
