Granted I gave it a look thru a few months ago, but character creation is, as far as I know, LITERALLY just "make a character in game" 🤣 If you ever plan to play w people who don't play the game, send them the most recent Benchmark, and tell them to go nuts 🤣

I love Roegadyn lore. I have 2 Roe characters and 1 Lalafell raised by Sea Wolves with a name that fits both racial naming conventions; Bhaldsyn Twyrsyn, translating to Brave Son Dwarf Son. I took some liberty with the lore for my Hellsguard Warrior. In my headcanon, the Inner Beast of the Warrior is embodied in a massive red bear Auspice. Its aramitama is unending, and every decade a great Warrior must face it and quell the raging bear. One of my OCs, Zen Bear, had been carrying out that duty for his entire adult life. His son tried to take up the mantle, but failed and so Zen continued to bear it into his old age. Eventually, the strain of exposure to such intense mystical fury seeped into him, strengthening his own Inner Beast beyond his control. For the good of his family and village, he left to find a death in battle his Beast could accept. Instead, he found a Monk who trained him to find control again. It is a temporary solution, but he has found a brief period of relative peace once more.

Its so fun when I find out something I wrote into my character’s lore has Actual Basis in the game’s writing. My WoL has been a hellsguard knight who studies healing magic for years and I’m just now finding out that’s not uncommon.

I love how the races of this game have such deep lore, but it is still so flexible to the point where you can create any character you want and there's still room for you in the lore! While I'm here: shout out to my fellow Hellsguard!

Great lore video, it's quite interesting with the lore with the Roes especially when it comes to the their naming convention. Now the last one should be the Hyurs?

Funny to imagine that on average, a Garlean would be stronger than a Roegadyn and that only the latter could be mages. Funnier than a lala tank and a roe healer, because those would results training, not innate state.

I do hope they get better faces in FF14, I highly doubt it, but one can hope, along with toggling that weird black mark on their nose when choosing the more tanned version. Same with the tall humans finally getting eyebrows 🤣

While I prefer Middie, Some Roe faces did get a glow up. Square can't really use the no eyebrow excuse on Male Highlanders since they broken lore a couple of times.
