FFXIV Ocean Fishing: 5 EASY Tips to Help You Get Your Mount!

Hi Gamers! I've got to the point where I pretty consistently get over 10k on Ocean Fishing trips - so I thought I would share some tips to players who might be getting close but can't quite get that mount. If these tips help you, please let me know! 💜💜

Ok, I started this Ocean fishing not knowing jackshit about fishing. A lot of info out there talks about double hook and triple hook or whatever but when youre new like me, thats not an option. I actually got to level 25 before i realized i didnt need to do any of those quest before i started Ocean fishing, still you dont get any cool buffs to help you improve your fishing. So what do you do... refer to the LuLus page regarding the baits to use but instead of worry about catching spectral this or that just focus on completing your mission. Thats a huge bonus. Look at the bait list and click on fish, that will also tell you what bait you need if you need to catch sharks or crab or whatever. then only use the baits to catch fish that will net the highest points. Dont worry about any other bullshit. Complete the mission and catch the fish that will give you the most points... thats it. I didnt start doing well until i got to lvl 45 or so. It takes time and with each lvl youll do a little better. Good luck.

Just started playing again after taking 2yrs off. This helped a lot with the game in itself being overwhelming to jump back into. Thanx for such a short and concise video. Hey from a sprout 😁 I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart thank you for how simple and easy to understand. I started fishing just to get the mount I even leveled my Fisher to 90 in literally 4 days I literally didn’t miss a boat and I was grinding for like 2 months I watched tons of videos most of them were complicated and tmi I was getting lost very easily then I watched your video and from the second try I got 12k when my highest was 9k so I’m thank you thank thank and I love you 🩵 And I’m no longer stressed lol 🤣

Fantastic guide! Do you ever use double or triple hook? My biggest fear about Patience is that it stops me from using double/triple.

Thank you! 💜You want to prioritize using Double/Triple hook when there is opportunity to catch mission fish, or when you're in a spectral current! Patience can help you build up stacks of Thalik's favour when you're in the last minute or two of a zone, or give you a bit of a points boost in the levels before you get double/triple hook! I hope this helps!

One more note, Always have your lucky lala with you. Guarantees all three spots to have Spectrals!

You can buy them from any scrip vendor (like the one near the ocean fishing dock in Limsa). They are sold for white gathering scrips. I hope this helps!💜

k; so now that you got me my mount; is there any real point to ocean fishing

There's a minion achievement at 1 million ocean fishing points. And a "World Class Troller" title at 3 million. There is also the dolphin and seagull minions if you don't have both. And, it's the easiest way to make a lot of white gatherers seals to buy materia which sells well. If any of those appeal, then absolutely! 😊
