Mm. Regular Merlin is still a bit better for prolonged challenge quests. 5-turn long NP regen and healing just seems better in the long run than a 3-turn max HP buff and NP regen. That Overcharge buff and NP drain/self charge are pretty nifty though. It'd be cool if og Merlin got the Overcharge perk at some point (let's be real, a 20% charge+attack bonus is kinda basic nowadays), even if he doesn't necessarily NEED it. Edit: Granted, I don't know the actual values for Proto Merlin's NP based on the level yet.

What she has in comparison is that her Max HP buff AND the NP regen buff actually scale off NP level, the latter is especially interesting because at NP2 she regens about 8% (7.5% rounded up) which might be better in some scenarios.

"Lady Avalon" pretenđs to be not alike Merlin with ArtCrit team setup, THICC maxHP up, Art up, stars np per turns, and a "double edge sword" Invul skill As i see for her usage is Crit the shiet out of the enemies before they NP, the 3rdSkill drains enemies'NP for 1 turn and Invul can be tricky to use, as for mischievous she is as a succubus i guess?, like...3rd skill popped and Invul the same turn the enemies are gonna use their NP then the NP drained back for 1 turn , then the NP is gonna turn red again and the Invul wore out. It kindda like NP seal but more situational.. and may the bosses have debuff immunity or debuff resist to not be affected by it.. hmm

both wiki and gamepress seem to imply the np seal doesnt actually stop the np from firing, but rather blocks them from charging their np. aka, they will still np, but they wont get another charge next turn

Merlin’s lil sis(her head cannon) is the single best user of FLB demonic bodhisattva I’ve ever seen, easy turn 1 500 OC as one of the most NP 1 friendly servants ever.(except the pepehands 5% per round NP but who needs that on an arts team) I thought she was extra based on how many arts support we had but she really shores up a lot of short comings of the current arts line up, the 25 stars per turn and a crit dmg buff, plus the easy +1 to Castoria shield count are all valuable and HP overshield always more usable than healing. Lasengle do be pulling a genuine Arcuied who moment.

Yeah the moment I saw her 1st skill, I knew she's 100% going to help NP1 art looping comps more viable. She's absolutely insane as the 3rd arts support for 3rd turn. If u got her, castoria, and a consistent arts aoe farmer (Muramasa, S. Ishtar) you can almost loop every farming nodes easily.

In a 2d game where the only way you can kill the enemy is with pressing buttons to do damage, whether you do it slowly or quickly it doesn't make any difference. Not having Koyanskaya and Oberon I can understand but generally that is the playstyle majority of players use so it's more about necessity and less about choice at that point. My point is that if you have flexibility then would someone actually use her. Or alternatively what kinds of scenarios could come up that would make people think, yeah I need an arts Merlin despite there existing Tamamo and Castoria.

@@alexanderlowery1471 I don’t completely agree with that since there have been several notes about Artoria and Arthur saying that they have the same history but are somehow different people at the same time. Maybe it just has something to do with parallelism. Merlin has his tower upright and Proto Merlin has hers upside down; in a similar vein, Artoria charges Excalibur pointing upward, while Proto Arthur charges his Excalibur pointing downward. In a simpler regard, their genders are also flipped. Seems like parallelism to me. Still there is a possibility your theory is correct since she has a slightly different personality compared to regular Merlin.

It's funny looking at her animations then comparing them to Merlin. His embody so much more of a "lazy mage" in that he just slaps them with a sword and some really simple spell work. While she uses flashy magic combos and occasionally uses a sword-like attack. I prefer her style and approach better, kind of wish Merlin had that quality too.

It fits better with their personalities Merlin is far more laid back and aloof compared to her, stating how he prefers whacking things with a sword because it's faster and simpler compared to casting a spell. Proto-Merlin is similar in some ways, but only on surface level details but is way more pro-active and mischievous than Merlin already was, so it makes sense for her to use spells more than he does
